Morn Hill Caravan Club Site Winchester, Hampshire, South East England, S021 1HL

3 stars out of 1 review

Morn Hill Caravan Club Site is a beautiful holiday park found in the South Downs National Park, on the outskirts of the popular cathedral city of Winchester. The park is open from late March to early November and welcomes caravan club members as well as non-members. The site has 103 pitches, with 97 of these available for motorhomes and touring caravans, with an additional six for tents. Seasonal pitches are also available at Morn Hill, usually from late May until early November.

All of the pitches at Morn Hill are grass, and the site itself is divided up into two separate areas. The park is well sheltered and the positioning of the trees and shrubs across Morn Hill provide a natural degree of privacy for all guests.

Facilities available on site for guests to use during their stay at Morn Hill include a toilet block, laundrette, and a chemical waste disposal point.

Whether guests are looking for a taste of the outdoors or wish to explore the history and heritage of Winchester, they will find plenty to do close to the site. The whole of the South Downs is easily accessible from Morn Hill. Guests can find a wide range of activities across the National Park. Organised activities from walking and cycling to horse riding and climbing take place on a regular basis, while families can also head out and enjoy their own woodland walks or play ball games on the vast swathes of land available. Keen cyclists enjoy finding the National Cycle Network, with routes passing close to the site, and exploring Winchester, the South Downs, and beyond.

There are several points of interest in Winchester itself to keep people of all passions entertained during their stay. Quaint shops, restaurants, and cafés are a feature of the town, which retains much of its historical feel with brilliant architecture and cobbled streets. The absence of cars from the city centre is notable and makes a real difference to the experience of exploring Winchester.

Winchester Cathedral is often the place many tourists begin, and is the longest Gothic cathedral anywhere in Europe. The cathedral can be explored at tourists’ own pace or guided tours and explanations of the history of the building are also available.

Winchester Castle, Wolvesey Castle, and Winchester City Mill are also popular attractions throughout the city. Wildlife lovers often head to Marwell Zoo, which homes over 1,200 animals, and those that enjoy the outdoors and scenery should tackle Farley Mount, the highest hill in the area affording incredible views across Hampshire, and head to Twyford Down.

A short drive down the M3 motorway takes guests to the south coast of England as well as to The New Forest. Southampton, Portsmouth, Bournemouth, and Poole are the biggest towns on the coast and are all great places to spend the day, while those looking to stay close to the South Downs can always take a cross-country drive then head towards Chichester, Bognor Regis, and Brighton.

Morn Hill is a great place to stay for families looking to explore this beautiful green area of the south of England.

The site is very clean split into two areas with helpfull staff and lovely surroundings. I stayed in the top area of the site and the pitches were fairly flat with the need to use levelling ramps on only a few pitches. There is not a lot to do on the site but there are many places like Winchester close by that can keep you entertained during your stay. There is also a pub within easy walking distance that does good food and the site is good for a stop over if you are travelling to the ferry port at Southampton.
