In the heart of the Lake District National Park, you'll discover Scotgate Caravan and Camping Site, a beautiful family holiday destination.
It is situated between Derwent Water and Bassenthwaite Lake, and is a great location for those looking to explore all of the Lake District and the surrounding area. The park has a range of accommodation options and its opening times differ throughout the year depending on the accommodation type.
Those bringing their tent, caravan or motorhome to stay here can enjoy the park all throughout the year. In addition, a range of modern and nicely decorated holiday homes are available for hire from the middle of March until the end of October. Finally, a luxurious range of chalets and lodges are also available, from mid-February until early January. Those who fall in love with Scotgate Caravan and Camping Site, the Lake District National Park and the surrounding region can also take up the opportunity to become lodge owners. The static caravans, lodges and chalets are all fully set up and hooked up to electricity and other utilities.
If you're staying here in your tent, your touring caravan or your motorhome, you'll find a selection of pitches. Most of the touring pitches are master pitches, where water taps are shared between pitches, but each pitch has its own electric hook-up, grey water drainage and television aerial hook-up. These pitches are also hardstanding.
Other smaller touring pitches are close to a water tap but have no grey water disposal points. However, these pitches are once again hardstanding and serviced with electric and TV hook-ups. All of the caravan and motorhome pitches have parking spaces.
Camping is offered in two areas, with excellent views of the Lake District’s famous fells from the main field at Scotgate.
A range of facilities are provided for guests at Scotgate Caravan and Camping Site, including an amenities block fully equipped with showers, toilets, basins and shaving and hair drying points, while there are family washrooms and disabled facilities, too. There is also a laundrette and a washing up area, and Wi-Fi is provided for guests to use throughout their stay.
The site has a licenced tearoom and a well-stocked on-site shop, perfect for guests whether they’re looking for something to eat and drink or are happy to self-cater.
This is a magnificent region in which to spend your camping, motorhome and caravan holidays. Explore the Lake District National Park either by going on a walk or head off on two wheels, with trails that are as easy-going or as challenging as you like. You could also enjoy fishing, go sailing or windsurfing, try pony trekking or take a gentle cruise along one of the lakes.
If you'd like to visit Keswick, it's just a five-minute drive from this campsite and with its shops, post office, pubs, cafes, restaurants and tearooms, it is a very useful place to have nearby, so you can keep your groceries topped up or maybe enjoy a meal out. While in Keswick you might also like to go round the Cumberland Pencil Museum, see a show at the Theatre by the Lake, or see the ancient Castlerigg Stone Circle which is just to the east of the town.
However you want to spend your holidays, if you choose to pitch or hire accommodation at Scotgate Caravan and Camping Site, you can be assured of a very warm welcome.
