If you are looking for a very quiet relaxing stay on an exceptionally clean and well kept site, you won’t go far wrong with this one.

Run by friendly and helpful staff we found it to be an ideal base for visiting Dorset’s coast and attractions.

A large number of the touring pitches are on grassed terraces with fantastic views over the countryside, Chesil beach and Fleet lagoon. Tents are in a separate area with the benefit of a ‘campers shelter’.

From the site, the ‘coastal path’ is accessible by foot but transport is needed if you intend to get out and about. The site entrance is on a main bus route.

There are ample toilet/shower facilities, including two good sized bathrooms in one of the blocks. Showers are free but I have to say that they could have been warmer. The well stocked shop was open all day.

In the evenings the licensed Red Barn was open for food from 6pm till 9pm staying open subject to demand. Unfortunately on the couple of times we tried to use it around 7.30pm it had closed. Locally within a few minutes drive there are some very nice pubs & inns serving food till late.

If you are taking a dog there appeared to be an excellent designated dog walk/exercise area.
