The Dower House Touring Park

Norwich, Norfolk

Stay at The Dower House Touring Park in the heart of the glorious Thetford Forest and you'll be able to enjoy four-star camping, motorhome and caravan holidays. The park has great facilities and also prides itself on being able to offer really spacious pitches as standard, so that you can feel part of the beautiful natural surroundings and enjoy the peace of the countryside. This could be just the holiday park you need to get a proper break from the day to day bustle of modern life. There is free WiFi at the on-site pub, The Traveller's Rest, but we're hoping you won't want to spend your holidays catching up with work emails online!

Families will particularly love this park in summer, since there's a free outdoor swimming pool. What could be more relaxing than swimming in the open air and then drying off by sunbathing on the benches or the soft grass around the pool?

You will find that the campsite shop is well stocked with groceries, toys and gifts to take home. When you want to find out about all the best places to go and things to do in Norfolk head for the information centre and pick up some leaflets on all the best tourist attractions near Thetford Forest.

You can enjoy games of badminton and volley ball at Dower House, too. There's a children's play area for the little ones and there is plenty of space for ball games, football and a little cricket batting practice.

The shower and toilet blocks include a baby changing room, washing-up sinks (indoors), laundry facilities and a freezer that you can use.

Disabled facilities at The Dower House are excellent. In fact there are five pitches that are particularly suitable for anyone with disabilities. These are close to the main facilities, near a tap, have a path to them to make wheelchair access easier and have electric hook-ups if you need them.

When the local wildlife is living happily, undisturbed by a campsite, you know that it's going to be a peaceful place for you as well. So it's good to know that The Dower House Touring Park has won a David Bellamy Gold Award for conservation. You'll be able to spot deer, rabbits, birds, butterflies and more in the woodland around here.

Thetford Forest is a wonderful place to explore by bicycle, so if you don't fancy taking your own bikes on holiday, why not just hire a bike for the time you want to use it? This could be a great option for anyone who wants to regain their confidence on a bike after a long absence, since there are quiet forest trails to explore.

If you enjoy walking holidays, The Dower House Touring Park makes a good base for that, because again there are plenty of gentle paths to explore through the trees. Don't forget your picnic!

Horse riding is a popular pastime in this part of Norfolk, too. And if you're keen on fishing during your holidays, why not check out the local fishing lakes?

So if you fancy staying at an award-winning park, rated Gold by David Bellamy and given four star status by the English Tourism Council, make The Dower House Touring Park your top destination for camping, motorhome and caravan holidays in Norfolk.

As a family we have been visiting Dower House Touring Park every year for over 35 years, with our children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The owners and staff are all so very friendly and go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable and comfortable.
The children just love to play all day swimming in the pool, making dens , riding their bikes or just meeting friends on the adventure playground.
This is a great place to enjoy a happy carefree holiday.

We have been regular visitors for over 25 years with our 3 children and have always found a warm welcome whenever we went.

The staff have been great and always on hand.

Looking forward to next season and introducing our 4 grandchildren to the Dower House and the staff.

This is a fab site for any style of camper.
it seems miles away from anywhere being secluded in the forrest.
we visit regularly throughout the year and althopugh we have ventured to other sites we keep coming back here.
the facilities are fantastically clean and never have to queue for the toilets or showers.
we lose our son everytime we are here as he is off tree climbing and having a whale of a time, the dog loves it too!
we would highly recommend it to anyone.

Absolutley fabulous campsite situated deep in Thetford forest. Ideal for families who want a good balance between good, clean facilities and family friendly activities. As most caravan pitches surround a superb adventure play area, we could sit outside and keep an eye on them. We never left the campsite! Also has a lovely large grassed area for ball games, a heated outdoor pool, a bar and a great little shop open till 5pm.
Will definately be going again soon. Highly recommended. The kids will love it...

This is the perfect campsite for a family who are looking for a weekend away with friends or on their own. Situated in the heart of Thetford Forest at least a 5 minute walk away from any major roads, with a reasonably new play park and a clean, but cold pool. I have been to this campsite on numerous occasions with my friends and family and have had a brilliant time. The site also has its very own bar so there's no need to treck to the nearest town just to have a drink. Also, i'll warn you now, you will not see your children all weekend, they will be climbing trees, building dens, swimming in the pool or playing football on the green.Just what kids are supposed to be doing. A must do.
