This site is well placed for visiting local attractions around Somerset, especially Chedder Gorge, which is just down the road. But it also has plenty to keep you and your family entertained on site, from swimming and paddling pools to a fully-equipped games room. The
BMX track, crazy golf, adventure play area and football courts are icing on the cake. A well-stocked shop, gas exchange and battery service are
also on site. Many pitches have
hedges for privacy and all have
good access to the washroom and laundry facilities.

There’s so much to do at Broadway House it’s hard
to know where to start. From mountain biking to climbing and archery to skateboarding there’s enough to keep even the most active family busy.
After a hectic day enjoying all those activities you’ll no doubt be feeling tired. Back at your caravan you’ll soon discover that Broadway House is a great place to unwind, too. You feel close to nature, as the pitches are on the south face of the beautiful Mendip Hills and just a mile or so from Cheddar Gorge and Caves. The views are worth the price of
a pitch on their own.
Although this is a busy site in high season, there are enough toilet and shower facilities to prevent long queues. With all
the other provisions, including laundrette and on-site shop, you could be forgiven for spending the whole of your holiday at Broadway House.
If you’d like some culture and history to balance the adventure and excitement on site, then the city of Wells – England’s smallest city – is less than 10 miles away. The stunning cathedral is a highlight of any visit to this wonderful part of Somerset.
Families who want to pack
as much into their holiday as possible should put Broadway House close to the top of their list of sites for 2007.

The only problem you’ll
have if you visit Broadway House is deciding between the on-site or off-site entertainment. Even the most active children will be kept busy by the array of activities available, including shooting and archery fields as well as BMX and skateboarding parks. There’s certainly more entertainment here than on
your average touring park.
Young children will love the farm animals here, which they can pet in their pens. Older kids can take courses in climbing, abseiling, canoeing, zip-wiring, caving and hot-air ballooning.
You’ll feel close to nature here, since the pitches are set on a terrace on the south face of the Mendips. Only one mile from Cheddar Gorge, Broadway’s views across the Isle of Avalon are worth the admission alone.

If you want to stay at a large park in the West Country with lots of entertainment facilities for young and old, you should head for Broadway House.
There are 300 numbered touring pitches: 100 are hard-standing, and 200 are grass, set on eight gently sloping terraces on the south face of the Mendips.
In high season, the number of grass pitches can be increased by a further 150, by opening up another field. Only one mile from Cheddar Gorge, Broadway's views across the Isle of Avalon from the upper terraces alone are worth the entry fee. A path through the woods above the site leads to two observation platforms offering even better views.
The list of activities available to users is extensive, from a shooting and archery field to the BMX and skateboarding parks. You can take the children to see the animals: on show are llamas, donkeys, goats and parrots, all in pens on site, or you can book courses in climbing, abseiling, canoeing, caving, zip-wiring and hot-air ballooning.
A complex featuring an eat-in or take-away restaurant, bar and disco hall is located near the reception, close to the heated outdoor pool. All facilities are built in a rustic, wooden style, which compliments the surroundings well. The two main sanitary blocks are well maintained, although a little stretched during high season; the first building has recently been extended to cope.
At the bus stop just outside the front gate you can catch an hourly bus to Weston-Super-Mare and its beaches, or the beautiful little city of Wells and its ancient cathedral and bishop's palace. The caves at Wookey Hole are also close by. The site is popular with families so it can get a little noisy during high season.
Dog owners please note: Rottweilers and Pit-bull terriers are not welcome.
