Made the visit on the last weekend of the 2009 season. In fact we were the last "tourer" on the site on the Monday they closed.
We have been here in a tent and in the caravan and have been impressed both times. Exceptional facilities with exceptional surroundings with great staff. We have been in High Season ( Easter 2009 ) and low season, Nov 2009 and noticed no difference in the way the park was presented and the condition of the facilities. Plenty of Wash blocks and if you knwo where to look you will always find a quiet one.

this was my second visit to site and will not be returning, both times i have been here we have had major problems with the toilet blocks breaking down in some way or another in general the park is very clean and tidy but i feel they have packed to many caravans in. Toilet block is cleaned twice a day but even at that they floors can be very slippy and wet due to cubicle lay out's. grass on a lot of the pitches have been waisted due to the high usage of tents. sarounding area is very beautiful and Blair Castle is well worth a visit

stayed on this site at the end of may 2009, the site is very big, however pitches are close together, ther is a big central grass area, shop on site is small and its better to go to the co-op in pitlochry.
there are five toilet blocks over the site, however i used the caravan for showers as only one temp ( to hot for young children), blocks are cleaned twice, site is very busy at weekends and bank holidays, as we found out and can be very over streched only 2 showers in one of the blocks, we had some friends in a tent and they had to walk around just to find a warm shower, site can be expensive free for a small awning or £4.00 night for a full one, Site as great location and ithe bothy bar at the atholl arms should not be missed, great sunday lunch. great walking area and a few disrillerys nearby.

Practical Caravan Top 100 Parks 2007

Set over 30 acres of parkland, Blair Castle has a really special feel to it, which is apparent from the moment you drive through the medieval entrance and up to the huge modern reception building with its adjacent parking. The main attraction of the park is its approach to landscaping.
Spacious pitches are spread out in a random fashion over five well kept grass areas, shared with tent campers. Each area has plenty of trees to offer shade, and each also has its own clean, well specified sanitary building. The five areas are centred on a large expanse of grass that is perfect for games and features picnic benches and a children’s play area – ideal for parents who want to relax by their van while still keeping an eye on the kids.
Security is first-rate thanks to CCTV cameras around the entrance area and wardens on duty 24/7. This site will hold great appeal to those who enjoy horse riding, walking and golf, since there are excellent facilities for all these activities nearby. In addition, the town of Pitlochry, with its shops, distilleries and theatre, is just ten minutes away.

Practical Caravan Top 100 Parks Awards 2005

Situated close to the centre of Blair Atholl, Blair Castle Caravan Park is accessed by a Tarmac roadway that passes through
a medieval castle entrance. The impressive site is owned and run by Blair Castle Estates, and boasts an impressive reception building, ample parking and a multitude of facilities.
The site itself is very large, with huge open grassy areas in the centre that are surrounded by no less than five zones for tourers. There are plenty of water points, service areas and five immaculate and well-maintained toilet blocks.
Only a few pitches require you to drive over grass to reach them; all the others are serviced by Tarmac. Barbecues are allowed, but must be kept off the grass.
Children’s play areas are located centrally, and are surrounded by open grassy areas and some picnic benches, so parents can keep an eye on their kids and relax at the same time. Site wardens are on duty 24 hours a day and CCTV cameras are in operation around the entrance and the car park.
The site is conveniently located just off the A9, which runs from Perth to Inverness. The main railway line also passes the site, but the noise levels do not disturb the peace too much. Its just a quarter of a mile to the nearby small town of Blair Atholl, which is home to a few bars, a cash point and the award-winning Loft Restaurant.
This is a magnificent site set in beautiful surroundings that will appeal to old and young caravanners alike.

Practical Motorhome Independent Site Reviews.

Situated very close to the small town centre of Blair Atholl, this site is accessed by an imposing tarmac roadway, rather like the entrance to a medieval castle.
Owned and run by Blair Castle Estates, the site boasts an architecturally impressive reception building, with CCTV and plentiful parking. The reception houses various services for caravanners including a shop selling camping accessories, daily papers and internet facilities that can be used at a rate of £1.75 per 30 minutes.
The site itself is very large with open grassy areas in the centre surrounded by five zones for tourers and tents. The access roads are of good quality, and water points and service areas are also supplied. There are five high-quality toilet facility buildings located around the site. One of these is brand new and the other four are in excellent condition.
Blair Castle Estates keeps the site well-maintained and all the buildings and roads are regularly serviced. Only a few pitches require a drive across the grass to gain access to them; all the others are accessed directly by tarred roadways. Barbecues are allowed, but they must be kept off the grass.
There are two centrally located children’s play areas, which are surrounded by grassy areas and picnic benches. The apparatus is checked for safety every week. Site wardens are on duty 24 hours a day, and there are CCTV cameras over the entrance and the car park.
The small town of Blair Atholl is a ten-minute walk away. It is an easily accessible stopping-off point, because the main road (the A9) from Perth to Inverness runs very close by. The main railway line also passes the site, but the noise levels are not intrusive.
Whether you enjoy walking, pony trekking or just relaxing in a beautiful setting this site will appeal. it’s a superb site for couples, families and for more mature motorcaravanners.

Barbecues are allowed, but must be kept off the grass.

The site is an ideal stopping-off point, as the main road (the A9) from Perth to Inverness runs very close by. The small village of Blair Atholl is a mere five minutes walk away.
This is a superb setting for young and old alike, and for every sort of caravanners or camper.

Practical Caravans Top 100 Parks Awards 2003

How many parks have a castle overlooking them? Few of this quality, at any rate. Blair Castle Caravan Park is set within the very grounds of the traditional home of the Dukes of Atholl and their unique private army, the Atholl Highlanders. The castle is open to the public every day throughout the holiday season.

The caravan park itself consists of 32 acres of parkland surrounded by miles of beautiful river-banks, woodland and hill walks, and lies within the boundaries formed by the main drive to the Castle and the River Tilt. It is naturally terraced and the ground is made up of grassland and spinneys, with a big central area left free for children to play in, or for general use.

There are some 280 touring pitches offering varying degrees of shelter, 196 of which are mains-serviced pitches (10A or 16A). Of these, 146 are hardstandings and 46 fully-serviced , with their own water and waste facilities. There are five toilet and shower blocks and most of these are heated, with individual cubicles showers. There are also units for baby changing and disabled use, two of which have baths.

There’s also plenty on-site to keep families occupied: an indoor games room has pool tables, table tennis and table football, plus a TV lounge. The park also has an adventure playground, an under fives’ playground and a mini-football pitch.

The park is well-placed for Perthshire and the Trossachs, and the views from the site itself are enough to keep you going for a while when you arrive. The castle grounds provide many walking trails, while the village of Blair Atholl is little more than 100 yards away with shops, a water mill, a craft centre and a folk museum. Pony trekking, golf, fishing, bowling and mountain bikes are all available, seasonally, from the village. Overall, this is a high- quality and peaceful park which is very well managed.
