Owner's description
Hill of Oaks Lodge and Caravan Park benefits from almost one mile of exclusive coverage along the shores of the beautiful Lake Windermere. Set in the slopes of ancient woodland, there are fewer places in England that offer the natural beauty of this location.
While Hill of Oaks is predominantly filled with owned caravans and chalets, there are also a small number of motorhome pitches available, all with their own electric hook ups. The park is open from March to November and is open to the whole family, including pets. The park is consistently rated as five star by the English Tourism Council, and has also won a number of awards for promoting conservation in this stunning area.
Given its location, it is natural that the most popular activities at this camping site are water based. Hill of Oaks’ spot along the shores of Windermere play host to five jetties, all of which can be used for launching a boat, sailing windsurfing, canoeing, and many more activities.
While the park is a great location to relax and escape everyday life, it also serves as a brilliant gateway to the rest of the Lake District, and it would be shame for you not to take advantage of all you can see and do in the local area. Walking enthusiasts can tackle some of the areas gentle hill passes, which will take you into popular villages such as Patterdale and Glenridding, which is situated on Ullswater, another great lake in the area.
An on-site shop is well placed to deliver all of your essential needs, while there is a full range of activities available at a number of centres nearby, including snooker, cycling, tennis, golf, and fishing.
Head to Hill of Oaks once, and you are sure to fall in love and look to return, whatever it is you love about the area.

I was very disappointed to find out that there are no seasonal pitches available on this site.
I have previously been given a weekly price for a pitch and have now been informed that there are no pitches available & the site does not have a waiting list.
Do any seasonal pitchholders, know of anyone deciding to move on for next year? Hill of oaks was exactly what we wanted, a quiet, family site.
Many thanks to anyone that can help us.

Hill Of Oaks & Blake Holme Caravan Estate, Windermere, Cumbria
A beautifully situated site. It caters mainly for static caravans which are located in pleasant secluded bays among the trees. Some of these sites are poorly maintained by the caravan owners which somewhat spoiled the tranquility of the location. The touring pitches are all hard standing and are of an impressive size, the toilet blocks and facilities all immaculatley maintained - some of the best I have ever used. Childrens play park and football field are good but located too far from the touring area to allow children to play unsupervised. Friendly and helpful staff.
Ace Site
We have a seasonal tourer on the site and we abosolutely love visiting the caravan each weekend
We particually enjoy the friendlyness of the staff and other owners of caravans.
We visit every weekend during the season and when the season end we always look forward to the start again.
