We are a family of four (2 children) and we have found the site fantastic. Our girls have really enjoyed the play area & we have really liked the security of the site. The location is fantastic and very beautiful, the staff are extremely helpful and very knowledgable. I would definately recommend this site to anyone with kids or pets. We came in August 2011 and will be returning, it's no surprise that this site is award winning. It definately has my vote.

Thank you Julie for your very positive review - it really helps us when we get feedback.

We are working hard this winter on a number of improvement projects and hope that our returning guests and new ones will enjoy their experience even more in 2012.

We first visited Harford Bridge last August and had a lovely time with our 2 children, aged 9 and 11. We went back there with a group of families in June and again had a great weekend, despite the weather. All the children, 11 of them ranging from ages 3 to 13, enjoyed the park. The play area was very popular and there was plenty of space to play. They also had great fun in the river. We'll definitely be going back.

Lovely tranquil site set in peaceful surroundings. Perfect for couples looking for a relaxing, quiet holiday.

Although a small playarea and having some lovely riverside pitches, the site is not what I consider to be family friendly. We have 3 young children and found lots of restrictions in place for children. Pitch sizes were adequate but a strange mixture of campers on the site, from party groups, old couples, families and young couples.

Would recommend for couples but definitly not for anyone bringing children.

A stunning site! Perfectly peaceful, with only the rushing of the water to disturb the rustling of the trees.

As you enter the site, the reception / shop / games / TV room is on your left. On your right is a large perfectly prepared lawn laid out with picnic tables. Continue towards the river and you arrive at the pitching areas.

The first pitching area is very approximately 200m x 80m level and well sheltered. The riverside pitches tend to be under trees; away from the river is in the open. Continue to the end through a gate and you are in a second much smaller area; again level and well sheltered. This is my favourite as it has a very cozy feel. Picnic tables are dotted about everwhere. There is free access to the river from both pitching areas, so families with children need to observe the obvious precautions.

There had been a considerable amount of rain during our visit, but the whole site remained solid and puddle free.

The wc / shower (free and substantially heated) facility is 6*, as is the pot washing / laundry facility opposite. No real problem, but these facilities are bit far from some of the pitches.

Dog friendly with a pleasant dog walking meadow just across from the entrance.

Buy your basics from the on-site shop; for everything else you need to go to Tavistock. Tavistock is a vey nice market town, but to get the best from it, go when the historic Pannier Market is open.

Two good eats & drinks pubs reasonably near. The Peter Tavy in Peter Tavy (Evening main courses £10 - £15) and the Trout & Tipple on the A386 towards Tavistock. ( Plymouth CAMRA Country Pub of the Year 2009)

Finally, a word of warning. There are many, many small lanes locally that are totally unsuitable for caravans. So I strongly advise not using your GPS in this area as primary navigation when towing. If you follow the GPS down one of these, you will not be happy I promise you.

Right on the edge of Dartmoor National Park, this site makes a great base for walking. It is also just a few miles from the distinctive Victorian town of Tavistock, with all its history. The River Tavy runs alongside the site and some riverside pitches are available. Most of the pitches are on grass, and all are spacious and level. Besides washrooms, the amenities include dishwashing sinks,
a launderette, freezer service and gas exchange. For recreation, the site has a play area, games room, fly fishing and tennis courts.
