There's nothing like a summer holiday by the sea, whether you're looking for the ultimate in relaxation, plenty of exciting activities, or a mixture of both.

If you're looking for sun, sea, and sand, these holiday parks in France by the coast are the ideal destination. Not only do they all boast superb swimming pools perfect for cooling off in the height of the warm season, they all have beautiful beaches close at hand for you to enjoy.

Les Grands Pins

If you don't want to travel far to hit the beach, Les Grands Pins holiday park in the Gironde area of France might be your ideal holiday destination. This tranquil park is set within a gorgeous pine forest right alongside the sea, with an ocean path leading you through the dunes straight onto the soft sands of Lacanau beach, close to the resort town of Lacanau Océan. The area is popular with surfers but also perfect for a relaxing seaside break.

Les Grands Pins itself offers plenty of fantastic amenities to make your stay really special, including a water park with a pool, water slides, lazy river, and more. There's also wellness treatments in the spa, cycling trails through the local forest, and all your usual essentials.

Parc Sainte Brigitte

This recently renovated holiday park is set within the scenic surroundings of the Guérande peninsula, wonderfully suited for a peaceful escape that still offers plenty to do. There's a covered heated swimming pool and an exotic lagoon pool, perfect for taking a dip in any weather, and if you're looking for a coastal escape this is one you're sure to love.

Parc Sainte Brigitte is just a few miles from La Turballe, a bustling fishing town with around 7 miles of gorgeous beaches popular with visitors. The park is also just a 20-minute drive from La Baule Bay, one of the longest beaches in Europe and a beloved destination for French holidaymakers for generations.

Aside from the beaches, the local area is rich in natural beauty, with the Brière Regional Natural Park open to explore on foot, by bike, or even by boat across the canals of the Grande Brière, one of France's largest marshes.

Les Sirènes

This gorgeous holiday park offers the best of both worlds, based within a beautiful 37-acre forest that sits at the heart of the seaside resort town of Saint-Jean-de-Monts in the Vendée area of France. You can relax on-site enjoying the heated swimming pools and fun resort activities, and walk to the beach in less than 10 minutes whenever you feel like it.

The sandy beach of Saint-Jean-de-Monts is part of the Côte de Lumière or "Coast of Light", a name for the spectacularly sunny seaside resorts along the Vendée coast. The low tides offer plenty of space on the sand for walking, beach activities, and fishing. The recent restoration of the seafront has added picturesque plant life to the network of walking trails and cycle paths that make this a great destination for coastal exploration, ideal if you're looking for a more active break by the sea.

Les Mouettes

Enjoy a seaside break in Brittany at Les Mouettes holiday park, which sits right alongside the attractive Bay of Morlaix. With an on-site water park featuring indoor and outdoor pools, giant water slides, a lazy river and a whirlpool bath, as well as a wellness centre, a cinema, mini-golf, and other superb amenities, there's plenty to recommend this park even before you consider the enviable coastal location.

The local area offers some truly striking sights, making it an ideal destination for walking and sightseeing alongside the sea. The Bay of Morlaix is dotted with scenic islands, including one which plays host to a looming 16th-century castle, Taureau Fort. There's also the seahorse-shaped Île Callot, which you can walk to during low tide. This island makes a great place for a coastal stroll, and is home to the Notre-Dame de Callot chapel among other landmarks. Just be sure to check the tide times so you don't get cut off!

These are just four favourites from a whole variety of superb coastal parks in France that make ideal destinations for summer beach holidays. Be sure to explore our full range of campsites and caravan parks in France and book now for breaks in summer 2023 and onwards.
