Your recommendations for visiting the Highlands

We asked our readers for recommendations on where to visit while visiting the Highlands. Here's what you said:

"I love the walking routes around Craig Phadrig's hill fort near Inverness. This impressive ancient site was built in the Iron Age and makes for quite an ending to the walks, which take no longer than an hour. There are a number of other walks in the area too, it's a great spot for hiking."  Andrew, Inverness local.

"I wouldn't miss a trip to visit the Queens View when you go camping in Perthshire. This area is the Gateway to the Highlands, and has outstanding views across the loch, with some great walking opportunities in the local area. And when you're done, take a trip to the quaint village of Pitlochry for one of their outstanding afternoon teas." Kelly, Bookster

"I'd definitely recommend a trip to one of the Megalithic sites dotted around the highlands such as Clava Cairns near Inverness. These are fascinating places to visit and a glimpse into life 4000 years ago." Alexander, Experienced Tours

"Anytime I think of the Highlands, Glen Affric springs to mind. From the bare mountains of Kintal, to the beautiful Loch Affric. The scenery of this picturesque Glen makes it the finest spot for walkers of all ages. Truly a memorable experience!" Davide, Escape by Campervan
