David Bellamy has recognised the efforts of Springhouse Country Park, Northumberland by awarding them with his Conservation Award of Special Distinction.
The 35 acre park with static caravan facilities and 20 touring pitches is owned by Bluesky Resorts and has been given the award for its focus on introducing children to wildlife.
Andrew Blackie, Springhouse general manager said: "This award was a complete surprise for us and is a great start to the new holiday season. "Our countryside has an abundance of wildlife and we want all our visitors, especially the children, to enjoy it as fully as possible."
The award is the second the park has received in a year after taking home a David Bellamy Gold Award last Autumn. Since gaining the park in 2008, Bluesky resorts has spent £275,000 refurbishing its facilities and landscape.
"The award recognises that your [Springhouse Country Park] environmental work is truly innovative and something of which you can be rightly proud."David Bellamy
