Fantastic site, the toilet and shower blocks were heated and had unlimited hot water. The site is very convenient for Ferry Meadows park and also only a sort bike or bus or car ride into Peterborough. Wildlife abounds with squirrels, rabbits and foxes. We had a great time and will definitely return.

Excellent campsite for all ages. Very well presented, excellent shower and WC blocks, always clean and plenty of hot water. Good pitches, level, tidy and clean on grass or gravel. Well positioned for access to Peterborough, East of England showground, Ferry Meadows park and restaurant/pub within walking distance. Lovely walks and cycling opportunities. Already returned 3 times this year as have many other campers.

This is a wonderful Caravan Club site. It is right next door to the Country Park, with great access to walks, cycle routes and wildlife. The other direction down the road is the Nene Valley steam railway. By showing our site receipt, we were giving a discount. We had a fabulous day on the railway and had a lovely ride into Peterborough and then back.
Another day we cycled alongside the railway line into the City, which is a really pleasant ride. Our children managed it quite easily, and we did our shopping and cycled back. Saved using the car.
The site is lovely - split into 2 parts, 1 either side of the road. The one with the office is more regimented and has more hardstandings, but we always go across the road which is bigger, has a bit more room plus really good kids playground.
Fish and Chip comes on site at the entrance a couple of evenings, and ours tasted nice.
Only slight problem we had was that the toilets have a keycode entry to stop the park users using them, but my 9yr old daughter had problems operating the keycode pad, and the washing up area was on the side of the toilet block so you do get wet if it is raining. Nothing too major and certainly did not spoil our enjoyment of the site.
We had a nice meal at The Granary at the beginning of Ham Lane, within walking distance of the site.
It was a lovely site, we all had a great time and we will be returning.

We live six miles away from Ferry Meadows and have owned our caravan for a year, so far we have stayed at this site four times. We love it! The grass pitch side is perfect for families and dogs. It is spread out, there is a fab play area and great toilet facilities. The wardens are great, very friendly. It is soooo relaxing there. The country park itself is great and nene valley railway is also two minutes walk from the site. We have been to several other sites both close to home and further afield but we always say "It's not as good as Ferry meadows is it?".
Perfect for families, bike riding, walking, shopping (P'boro town centre) steam railway, parkland etc.
Ferry Meadows Caravan Club Site, Peterborough, Cambridgeshire

I have been to this site on three occasions now and plan to go back. The campsite is a two minute walk away from Nene Park, which offers a variety of watersports including windsurfing, and canoeing, as well as miles of walks. There are various play parks around the lake making the park a child friendly place to be. Although the campsite is Caravan Club so you have to stick to their "strict rules", the campsite is divided into two halves, in which I've noticed the second half has a more laid back atmosphere and seems to be where the families are placed. A great choice for a relaxing summer weekend.

visited 2005: This was a real surprise, as the site description does not do it justice. The site is at the heart of Ferry Meadows Country Park which offers fun & relaxation for all ages. There are endless walks in a well kept, clean enviroment. The watersports offer good value for money and safety equipement is at hand for all users. Cycle paths are 'car free' & a great way to explore the countryside. The site is on both sides of the main entrance into the Country Park, with key security barriers in operation for campers. The shower & toliet blocks are up to the usual high standard of the Club.
