Chestnut Farm Holiday Park is an award winning, family owned and run holiday park just three miles outside the city of York. It is open from mid February until early January every year.

It is a popular location for families looking for a quiet retreat and offers 25 seasonal pitches for touring caravans in addition to static holiday homes for rent and hire. There are also six cottages available to hire. The campsite welcomes families and couples, but no groups of single adults.

All the static caravans at Chestnut Farm are spacious and equipped with modern conveniences and appliances, so guests choosing to staying in them are guaranteed a comfortable stay. And as the site is in a leafy, nicely landscaped location, those staying in their own caravans will take pleasure in the peaceful environment which also offers a degree of privacy.

One of many campsites in North Yorkshire, Chestnut Farm Holiday Park sits close to the banks of the River Ouse, to the south of York. There are a number of fishing stations along the banks of the Ouse that can be accessed by keen anglers, while there are a number of charming riverside walks that provide picnic and photo opportunities aplenty, perfect for easing the pace of life on your caravan holidays.

Lush Yorkshire countryside surrounds this holiday park and there are many places where you can ramble as well as indulge in games of football and cricket. From this site you can also explore the North York Moors and Yorkshire Dales, either on foot or on two wheels, venturing out alone or with friends and family, or in an organised group, if you'd prefer.

If you're holidaying here, a trip to York really is a must. You can drive in if you like, but there's a park and ride system in operation, too – there's a bus stop near this campsite. Or take the river bus into the city, a fun and memorable way to journey into the heart of the city and a lovely way to see all of York's riverside sights at the same time! If you’d rather stick to two wheels, there is a cycle path that heads into the city, which can be picked up 500 yards from the park's entrance.

Once in York, there are so many things to do – and something for everyone. York Minster, the National Railway Museum and the Jorvik Viking Centre are among the most popular places to visit. Most of York’s attractions relate to the rich heritage and history of the city, yet there are some modern developments such as shops and leisure facilities, too.

Further afield, you may wish to head into Leeds, which in recent years has developed into one of the most eclectic cities in the region, while a drive out to the east will bring you to the Yorkshire coast, offering stunning views across the North Sea as well as the chance to visit some famous seaside towns, such as Scarborough. All of which makes Chestnut Farm Holiday Park a convenient base for your caravan holidays in Yorkshire.
