Tom's Field Campsite is a traditional camping destination, found in the Purbeck Hills in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the Dorset coast. The park is close to the Purbeck Heritage Coast as well as Dorset’s famous UNESCO World Heritage Jurassic Coast. Tom’s Field is a wonderful base for exploring the beauty of the local area as well as for heading further afield.

While Tom’s Field is a rural campsite with no artificial lighting or noise, there are plenty of facilities available on site to ensure guests are comfortable during their stay. These include heated toilet and shower blocks, washing up areas, and a shop with a wide range of groceries and other camping accessories. There is also chemical waste disposal available for campers, while a small number of electric hook-ups are available, too. Guests staying at the park during the high season between April and September can enjoy a cooked breakfast on the site, made using produce from a local supplier.

This campsite in Dorset is passionate about the environment and holds various workshops throughout the year for children and adults to learn about conservation. Organisations and charities including the RSPB, as well as local artists and activists often deliver the workshops and host other events at Tom’s Field Campsite.

There's much to discover on your camping holidays in Dorset – including the county's famous coastline. The nearest beach is found just three miles away at Swanage, a beautiful town with a range of shops and wonderful seafront cafés and restaurants. Swanage Bay is a popular place with tourists who enjoy eating freshly caught fish while taking in the view.

The beaches found along the Dorset coast offer something for everyone. For fossil hunters there is the Jurassic Coast and plenty of opportunities to indulge in fossil digging and cave exploration, while those looking to relax with their families will enjoy the calm seas, perfect for swimming and paddling. Those feeling adventurous can enjoy jet skiing and water skiing at various locations along the coast.

There's also the West Dorset Heritage Coast to explore, plus the famous Chesil Beach. If you don't mind driving a little further, Lyme Regis is about an hour and a half from this campsite and is a lovely, pretty destination. Closer to this campsite, the famous natural landmarks of Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door are both well under an hour's drive from from Tom's Field Campsite.

If you'd like a day out in somewhere a bit more substantial, jump in the car and in 40 minutes you could be in Poole, wandering round the harbour and enjoying a bite to eat. Or in about an hour you will be in Bournemouth, a brilliant day out for the whole family. Walk along the pier and the beach, spend a day shopping or visit the aquarium – whatever your interests, you're sure to be satisfied when you visit Bournemouth.
