Moor End Farm

Moor End Farm has been a popular campsite and caravan park in Yorkshire since 1965. It is a small, family run site in the charming village of Acaster Malbis, near York.

The campsite, which is open every year from Easter until the end of October, sits in a beautiful part of the countryside and is also a working farm. Moor End Farm has stunning views in all directions. You’re welcome to bring your dog with you to stay at this campsite, as long as you keep him or her under control, and we’re sure pets will have a wonderful holiday experience here, too.

Moor End Farm campsite offers you 12 touring pitches, with one static holiday caravan for hire. Guests staying on the site in their touring caravans or motorhomes will benefit from the use of electric hook-ups as well as plenty of great facilities that can be found on the site. These include hot showers, a clean sanitary block, dish washing and laundry facilities, as well as access to a fridge freezer and microwave oven for storing and cooking food. The toilets have disabled access.

There is plenty of space around the park for dogs to walk and children to run around, in addition to a small number of swings for little ones to play on. Picnic tables situated around the park mean guests can enjoy eating outdoors and taking in the beautiful views that are afforded from the park.

Moor End Farm is ideally situated for anyone who wants to enjoy the beauty of rural Yorkshire, while being close to all of the major attractions found in the towns and cities of the area. The park sits close to the banks of the River Ouse, and is very popular among fishing enthusiasts, while other guests enjoy taking the five minute walk to the nearest river bus station and taking a unique journey into York.

Those who would prefer to travel via a drier route will find a bus stop a short distance from the park, while those who want to head out in their car or motorhome can drive easily into York or find the park and ride station, which is also close to Moor End Farm campsite.

The park is also a short distance from the popular York to Selby cycle route, which offers some great opportunities to get out into the countryside for a stress-free bike ride, as well as being a good way to get into York or Selby for sightseeing.

All this talk of outdoor activities is enough to make anyone thirsty, so it’s good to know that Moor End Farm campsite’s nearest public house – the Ship Inn – is just a five-minute walk away. The Ship Inn serves great local ales as well as wholesome, locally sourced foods, and is welcoming to families. The pub is legendary throughout Yorkshire for supposedly being haunted, and attracts many “ghost hunting” tourists as a result. The pub is within Acaster Malbis village itself, and while there isn’t much else in the village the pub is a good place to relax and plan the next day’s activities. We recommend taking a gentle stroll around the village on your way to the pub.

Guests who wish to explore more of the surrounding area are encouraged to spend some time in Leeds as well as in York. It’s also worthwhile to take a day trip out to the east coast during your camping and caravan holidays near York.
