Ashfield Holiday Cottages and Caravan Park is a beautiful family run holiday park offering 40 pitches for motorhomes, touring caravans, and tents, although there is a separate rally field that can also accommodate another 32 caravans if necessary. All pitches are level, and the site is quiet and well-sheltered, offering a good degree of privacy to guests and their families.
Seasonal pitches are also available, while there are two holiday cottages also available to rent on the site. The park is a short distance from the centre of York.
Electric hook-ups (16Amp) are available to guests staying at the site, while there is also chemical waste disposal, a shower/toilet block, and laundry and washing up rooms available for use at guests’ convenience. A children’s play area means there is somewhere for younger ones to run around and enjoy themselves, while a well-stocked on-site shop means guests never have to venture far from Ashfield Holiday Cottages and Caravan Park if they don’t wish to.
Wi-Fi internet is free for guests to use during their stay, and an on-site picnic and barbecue area is popular during the summer months. The park also stocks Calor Gas, while responsible dog owners are allowed to bring up to two dogs to stay at the site, too. The campsite is on a quiet country lane leading into woodland, ideal for peaceful dog walks.
There are a number of local amenities available for guests who don’t wish to travel far during their stay. Within a mile of the site guests will find the local village of Dunnington, where there is a mini-supermarket, three pubs, a fish and chip shop, as well as other small businesses providing a range of products and services.
Guests who are interested in travelling into York have several options for doing so, including driving and parking in the city centre itself, driving to the nearest park and ride station, taking the bus from outside the park, or heading onto the cycle trail that heads past the park and cycling into the city. The cycling option definitely provides a unique perspective on the city as well as providing guests with an excuse to enjoy some exercise.
York is one of the most popular cities from a tourism perspective in the whole of the UK. The city is famous for its history and heritage, and while this can be seen in all directions when visiting York it is also a lively and modern place filled with cultural attractions, bars, and restaurants. Be sure to check out both sides of York when you head there!
To sum up, Ashfield Holiday Cottages and Caravan Park (also known as Ashfield Nurseries caravan park), is a quiet, level 2.5 acre campsite to use for camping, motorhome and caravan holidays near York.

Spent a peaceful 11 nights, some traffic noise but not enough to disturb your sleep. Good siting, close to Ring Road and good entrance. Well kept, though toilets are dated, are clean. Wardens are very pleasant and helpful. Would recommend this site for touring surrounding area and visiting York with P&R only minutes away by car. Level site with T.V. connection at bollard, good value.
