This immaculate site is in the Cairngorms National Park in the Scottish Highlands. Family-owned and operated, Grantown-on-Spey Caravan Park scores consistently well in the Practical Caravan and Practical Motorhome Top 100 Sites Awards, and has been voted the top Caravan Park in all of Scotland since 2015.
The facilities on Grantown-on-Spey Caravan Park are of the highest quality. Washrooms have under floor heating and cubicle washbasins. There's even a separate toddler washroom with a small bath on this Park. There are two laundry rooms with washing machines and tumble dryers and a separate dedicated facility for the Disabled. It's certainly a family-friendly site, with a separate children's play area and a games room with table tennis and a pool table.
The Park has 135 pitches for touring caravans and motorhomes and 70 are extra spacious Superpitches, each with its own Freesat TV box, water and waste point and 16 amp electric hook-up. The standard touring and motorhome pitches have 10 amp hook-ups, most with a TV point. Both grass and hardstanding pitches are on offer. There are level pitches for motor caravans and a special motorhome service point. Free superfast WiFi connection is available throughout the park.
The wardens escort every caravan to its pitch and are happy to help you onto the pitch, parking your caravan for you if you'd like them to do so.
Grantown-on-Spey makes a great base for touring, walking holidays, fishing, golf and wildlife-spotting. Walkers will love the many paths they'll find in this part of the Cairngorms. There are some great tourist attractions nearby, such as the excellent theme park, Landmark Forest Adventure Park in Carrbridge, the Strathspey Steam Railway and the Cairngorm Funicular Railway, all within easy reach. Scotland's famous malt whisky trail – the only one of its kind in the world – is also a great draw to the area.
For those who love a bit of luxury, we also offer a chalet 'Mountain View' ideal for a couple wishing to escape to the countryside. The one-bedroom accommodation is fully equipped including an open plan kitchen, dining and living area, with en suite bathroom. Spectacular views can be enjoyed from the decking area.
We have five 'Lapwing' glamping pods suitable for two people or small family breaks and these are super cosy, fitted to a high spec and include a small kitchen and dining area, sofa bed, and shower room. A flat screen tv and access to wifi is included.
'Wigwams' are also available to hire, sleeping up to five people. These wooden camping pods are heated, double glazed, insulated, come with foam mattresses, seats and a table. There's electricity, Freesat TV and an electric kettle. All you'll need to bring is bedding or sleeping bags for each person and your personal kit. One well-behaved dog is allowed per Wigwam.

I have just come across this review made by jonesanthony from Leicestershire and find it shocking that someone is permitted to write such a load of rubbish. It smacks of sour grapes to me! Can't walk with a broken ankle? Rubbish! I've endured 2 broken ankles in the past, at different times, and, with the aid of crutches, walked out of the hospital without any problem. What a lame (sorry!) excuse for not wanting to walk from the car park to your tent - sheer laziness and lack of respect for other campers who have to endure the noise of a car driving on the park in the early hours. Yes tent tags deposits are asked for but it is a DEPOSIT which means you GET YOUR MONEY BACK when you return your tag! I've been told it's so the warden can clearly see who has paid and who hasn't (for those fly by nights that may want to sneak on without paying!) You just have to look at all the other reviews on lots of different sites such as The Caravan Club to see what a load of baloney this Jones person has written. The words 'chip' and 'shoulder' come to mind. My wife and I have been coming to this site for the past 10 years. It never fails to please. The wardens are exceptionally helpful; going out their way to ensure you have the best stay possible. The facilities are absolutely spotless no matter what time of day or night you use them. From the minute you enter the Park and look at the beautiful landscaped gardens, the cleanliness of the site & the excellent facilities on offer you know you're in a first class place. I have no hesitation in recommending this site - you will have a wonderful stay just like we and many others have year on year!

Sorry to say had a really negative experience this year. I have stayed on this site a total of 3 separate times. I utilise this site as a base camp for duke of edinburghs award expeditions on the spey when doing some voluntary work. Each time I have stayed here there has been no more than 3 adults and no pets.
I have just returned home from this sit and have to say my decision to stay on this site this year is on my list of issues from this years trip.
I paid in full months before arrival a total of £48 per small tent, so for 2 tents a total of £96 for 3 nights. On the pricy side but its very commercialised and facilities are pretty good.
However this year the attitude of the wardens appeared very negative and unhelpful. Upon arrival I reported to the office. I advised I had an additional tent so now 3 in total, I therefor paid an additional £48 for 3 nights. I was advised I would have to pay £3 deposit for a tent tag per tent, so £9 in total as they were very busy. In usual caravan club style we were escorted to our pitch, to find there was only 2 other tents on site...... I thought you were busy?
Anyway, the first day staying here I had a phone call from one of the young people I was supervising saying she had fallen injuring her ankle. Around 6.30pm. I then went to visit this young person who was wild camping and decided to take her to hospital. Around 8pm I asked another member of my party to speak to the wardens advising we may be late back and unable to get through barrier after 11pm (as the barrier closes automatically). My member of staff got a pretty negative unsympathetic reply basically saying tough.
Later that night after the injury had been diagnosed as a broken ankle, plaster cast and cruches issues, we made our way back to the site. Upon arriving at the site at around 0200 hours, I arrived at the main gate and the barrier was down. My casualty was simply unable to talk more than a few metres. I knocked on the wardens caravan as I had no other option.....the first female warden made me aware that my other staff member had warned them but they would not open barrier as its their policy. I explained the circumstances and they seemed to moan at me and vanish back into the caravan. A male member warden then appeared, I apologised again for waking and inconvenience, but he didn't even acknowledge me. He didn't speak to me just huffed and tutted at me as he went to open the barrier. We then drove onto the site.
The following morning I spoke to our tenting neighbours to apologise if we had woken them...they advised we hadn't.
I didn't interact with the wardens then until the day of our departure. Due to logistical reasons we had to leave at 7am on the day of departure. Still in possession of our tent tags we had to leave with them as the wardens office doesn't open until 9am. At around 11am I had a phone call enquiring where they were, I advised I was back at hospital and someone would be dropping them off later.
Not once did any of the wardens sympathetically enquire how our casualty was or wish a speedy recovery - isn't this human nature?
My opinion of the site from a camping perspective:
- poor quality turf littered with pebbles and small stones
- rude wardens and poor customer service
- twice I went for a shower and found them dirty and grass in the shower tray.
- foul smelling wash basin drains when having a shave
- very expensive
- ridiculous deposit for camping when I had already paid £150! why not ask the same of caravaners?
Im rating this site 1 stars, sorry! This is an affiliated Caravan Club Site. I regularly staff at other club sites and none have been as bad as this. The club moto is 'WE CARE.' This sites moto is the contrary, 'WE DONT CARE.'
I'd happily accept an apology from this site if they feel the have the capability to?

this was our first visit to Grantown on Spey and the caravan site is beautiful. we will be back. It was manned by very friendly staff who were extremely helpful. The toilets and showers were very clean and warm. Liked the private cubicles with sink and hair dryer? The site is close to amenities and great walks. The town is well served with eating places and good shops. Community is welcoming.

This was our 1st trip in the caravan & couldn't have asked for a better/cleaner site! Excellent toddler room with bath & shower which was very handy for our 10 month old. Lots of lovely walks around the site & only a short walk into Grantown itself. Very clean toilets & the staff most helpful. Highly recommended.

Just spent a very enjoyable 4 days at this site. The facilities were fantastic, toilets are very clean and even have heated floors !! We also used the toddler wash room for our 2 children which was also very clean and warm too. The pitch we had was large and fully serviced. On arrival we were also given a sky box for television which was great for the kids. The playpark was also good which catered for most ages of children/ We would definatley recommed this park to all ages and will be returning soon.
