This was our first trip as new caravaners. On arrival we were escorted to our hardstanding pitch (by a chap on a golf buggy!). The site has been awarded a David Bellamy award for conservation and was well maintained and quiet. My 4 year old son particularly enjoyed the adventure playground and feeding the many ducks on the pond. Nearby is the lovely village of Ripley with its castle and walks, the ice cream shop is a must. We also had trips to Knaresborough, Mother Shiptons cave, Ayesgarth falls and a longer drive to Ingleton caves. But when we were not travelling it was nice to just sit in the sites landscaped grounds, surrounded by trees, in the peace and quiet.
The shower and toilet block was immaculate and remained so for the duration of our holiday. The block also included a laundry room, washing machine and even an ironing board. The main complex included a nursery playroom, television and games room and a sauna but the best attraction was the indoor heated pool. This cost £1 and was worth every penny, again spotlessly clean. There is also a well stocked shop. The staff were very friendly and really looked after us knowing we were novices.
Overall a lovely quiet camp site perfect for familys and we highly reccommend staying there.
Best bit - the weekly chip van!

An attractive little site set in the estate surrounding Ripley castle, with its deer park and rolling hills.

Good clean facilities, play area for the kids, and friendly wardens.

Nearby Harrogate is a quaint old market town, with most major shopping outlets in an attractive setting.
