Le Péguère

This site, located in the northern suburbs of Cauterets, is an ideal base for exploring the town and its surrounding area. The site is set on sloping ground and has shelter from trees along the west side where the river flows. The main amenity block houses toilets, showers, hand basins and washing up sinks, all spotlessly clean and with copious free hot water. Reception is also housed in this block and the most of the site's pitches with mains hook-ups are located near here too. Several washing blocks around the site ensure that all campers are conveniently close to toilet and shower facilities. There are no shops or other facilities on site, but the centre of Cauterets is just a l5 minute walk away. The town boasts plenty of patisseries, boulangeries, souvenir shops and restaurants. Camping Le Péguère seems to be a favourite with those who enjoy the outdoor life, walking, fishing and climbing are all well-catered for in the surrounding mountains. The Parc National des Pyrénées is nearby. A large car park at Pont d'Espagne is ideal for motor caravans. An amazing Y-shaped waterfall is spanned by the bridge at Pont d'Espagne, where you'll also find shops, a cafe, toilets and a visitor information centre.
