South Lea Caravan Park is a quiet and popular family and pet friendly holiday park with a four star rating. The park is found close to the Yorkshire Wolds and is one mile from the welcoming market town of Pocklington, set in 15 beautiful acres of nearly all flat lush Yorkshire grassland.
South Lea Caravan Park has a number of pitches available for motorhomes and touring caravans, as well as 13 pitches for holidaymakers that wish to stay in their tents while at the site. Hard standing and grass pitches are available to guests. All of the pitches are supplied with an electricity hook-up, while communal facilities found on the site include a heated toilet and shower block.
In addition to the pitches for hire, there is also a seasonal development on the park that is open for adults only to stay in the static holiday homes that are available, while there is also a development of luxury holiday homes that guests that wish to make South Lea Caravan Park a regular destination can enquire about buying.
On the site, guests will find a sizeable children’s play park and a large field for dog walking. There are also designated dog walking routes within the park and in the surrounding area, while an on-site dog shower means you can always clean up your pets if they’ve been running through a muddy field. A short distance from the park there is a motel that anyone can go to for something to eat, while a bus stop right outside the site means the best towns and cities in the area are easily accessible, allowing guests to leave the car behind and spend the whole day relaxing, whatever they’re doing.
There is much to do in the town of Pocklington and there are a number of beautiful walking routes you can take there from the site when the weather is suitable. Pocklington is home to a 15th century church tower that dominates the area, while the architecture of the site in general is a quirky mixture of the old and the new. The Pocklington market takes place every Tuesday, while the town boasts a wide array of shops and a number of great restaurants serving a wide range of cuisines. Culture lovers should head to the Pocklington Arts Centre, which offers ‘second screenings’ of movies and often plays host to famous comedians.
Further afield, York is the most popular tourist city in the region, with much to do for everyone. While the city is brilliant for its collection of shops and modern bars and restaurants, it is exploring the history of York that most people find exciting when spending time there. The York Castle Museum is the central and main attraction, while the Jorvik Viking Centre and National Railway Museum are among the other great places that are worth checking out.
South Lea Caravan Park is a superb place to base yourself for exploring the local towns as well as York, the countryside, and even heading out to the east coast.
