Need some invigorating holidays and fresh air, craving for infinite beaches and small fishing ports…or do you prefer to go deep inland? From the Vendée down to the Spanish border, you are welcome on the Atlantic coast! There, wherever you go, everything is big, everything is bliss, from the North to the South. Sailing, surfing on salt waters, canoeing on the fresh waters of the Marais Poitevin… or else sunbathing on fine sandy beaches, or walking in the Landes forest to breathe fresh air…

Vendée, proud of its history and cultural heritage, is by its very nature a maritime region. It has 240 km of coastline with vast expanses of fine sandy beaches. It receives as much sunshine as the Côte d'Azur. This region is one where the natural environment is rich and generous, from the wild marshes around St Jean de Monts to the sweet smelling pine forests and calm, restful lakes.

Noirmoutier: Linked to the continent by the surprising Passage du Gois (a 4km-long paved causeway only uncovered
at low tide) and by a road bridge. Discover the salt pans, the ports and fishing villages, the castle, the Chaize wood with its forest of mimosas, the Sealand aquarium, etc.

Ile d’Yeu: A pearl in the ocean. Cycle round it to really appreciate the untouched coast, the castle, the port of La Meule and the little blue and white villages.

Les Sables d’Olonne: seaside resort, fishing port and yachting harbour which is also the starting point of the Vendée Globe race.

Les Epesses: The spectacular historical pageant at the Puy du Fou is a must on Friday and Saturday evenings, while in the day time, you can have a walk in the 'Great Park of French History', and around the medieval city with its shows (battle of the dungeon, the Fort of the year 1000, the ball of the ghost birds and the Gallo-Roman stadium).

Also visit the Muscadet vineyard, situated only 75 km from the campsite.

...and don't miss:

The marshland festivals, fireworks, dances, …

In May, jazz festival.

In June, international triathlon.

In July, the 'Cinété' film festival.

Discover the marshes on foot, by bicycle or in a skiff. Sailing, sand-yachting, fishing from the land or in a boat, horseriding, tennis, golf (18-hole course), cycling, roller skating, archery. Eating out in the region brings you a health-giving variety of fish and seafood dishes and also simple feasts of duck with 'mogette de Vendée' beans, not forgetting the famous brioche.
