If you're touring Wensleydale and the Yorkshire Dales, Honeycott Caravan Park offers a warm welcome to motorhomes and touring caravans and also has holiday caravans for hire and a holiday cottage. There are also new and pre-owned static holiday caravans for sale, which have mains water and drainage, bottled gas and electricity. So if you fall in love with this area, you could buy your own holiday caravan and enjoy regular breaks as often as you can from March to October every year.

If you have friends or family members who would like to be on holiday with you but have no motorhome or caravan, tell them about the attractive stone Honeycott Holiday Cottage to them. The cottage sleeps four, and boasts a super kingsize bed that can be separated into two singles if preferred. Pets are not allowed in the cottage.

This small caravan park has lovely views of the dramatic and beautiful landscape of Upper Wensleydale, in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The site is on the western outskirts of the town of Hawes and it has direct views towards Abbotside Common and Buttertubs Pass.

Honeycott Caravan Park has a heated amenity block with hot showers, chemical disposal point and all touring pitches are serviced with electric hook-up, waste and water points. Reception sells essential items including gas sales, there's also an information point and Wi-Fi. Normal arrival times are 12 noon to 5pm, and on your departure day you are asked to leave by 12 noon. If you think you will arrive after 5pm, give the campsite a ring with your estimated time of arrival to arrange late access. The site consists of privately owned static holiday homes, a handful of seasonal touring caravans and 13 touring pitches.

Families with or without children are welcome to come on holiday here, and two dogs are permitted per motorhome or caravan. Unfortunately gazebos and commercial vehicles are not allowed on the site.

Honeycott is ideal for holidaymakers wishing to visit the picturesque town of Hawes. From the site it is just a ten-minute walk to the centre, where you can appreciate the town's attractive location with appealing, independent shops, a fish and chip shop, several cafés plus Indian and Chinese takeaways. Tuesday is market day in Hawes.

One of the town's greatest attractions – and within walking distance of the caravan park – is the Wensleydale Creamery, where you can go on a cheese-making tour, visit the cheese shop selling a multitude of different cheeses made on the premises or enjoy something to eat in the Creamery Restaurant, with fine views over Wensleydale. In fact the nearest restaurant to Honeycott Caravan Park is The Creamery Restaurant and Café.

Other attractions in the area includeThe Wensleydale Railway, Hardraw Force (the highest single drop waterfall in England), Aysgarth Falls, Leyburn's Little Chocolate Shop, Fountains Abbey in Ripon, Ingleborough's show caves, Ingleton Waterfalls, Bolton Castle, Bolton Abbey, Richmond Castle, Middleham Castle, Skipton Castle and Hawes Ropemakers.

It's ideal for anyone who loves walking holidays, mountaineering, caving and the great outdoors and Honeycott Caravan Park makes a good base camp for anyone walking sections of The Pennine Way.

The nearest supermarket to the campsite is Spar in Hawes. If you need any repairs to your caravan, the nearest place to try is AJC Leisure in Newby, Clapham (

Buses run from Hawes to Leyburn, Richmond, Sedburgh, Settle, Ingleton and Garsdale Station (for Leeds), so this is very handy for motorhome owners particularly, who can leave their motorhome on site and enjoy relaxing days out.

You'll find Honeycott Caravan Park a quarter of a mile south west of the market town of Hawes on B6255 Hawes to Ingleton Road. It's generally open from the beginning of March to the end of October. The site cannot process card payments, so please pay with cash or a cheque.
