Set on the very edge of the North York Moors National Park, an area of outstanding natural beauty, yet close enough to a number of thriving market towns and cities, York House offers the perfect base for great days out or great days in.
Historic York, the beautiful spa town of Harrogate, the Cathedral City of Ripon and the thriving market town of Knaresborough are all within a half hour drive.
Overlooked by the Hambleton and Howardian Hills and nestled in the lovely village hamlet of Balk, which is only 3 miles from Thirsk, York House has the countryside on its doorstep yet market town amenities, featuring independent shops and local pool are within 5 minutes. The Park provides a fantastic gateway to the Moors and Dales, even the East Coast town of Whitby can be reached within the hour.
If you want to stay closer to home York House is set in 23 acres and there are walks available directly from the Park. Whilst being a quiet family Park York House also caters for younger families; offering a fantastic 5-acre Play Field, indoor recreation facility and the Old Barn Coffee Shop. We also hold small events during the year for all the family to enjoy.
Our most recent development, Bishops Brook, features just 11 terraced plots with views of the Hambleton and Howardian hills, metered services and hard standing 2 car driveway. Each plot enjoys spacious surrounds and outlook and the feeling of tranquillity is completed by some lovely water features.
On the Park we have The Old Barn coffee shop which is a delightful Barn Conversion giving owners and visitors the chance to enjoy an array of home made cakes and snacks in a relaxed setting and with fabulous décor that would grace any high street location. The Italian blend coffee makes for a great lattes or cappuccinos with a full list of beverages also on offer. For a summer time treat why not try one of our superb ice cream sundaes? The indoor area which is adjacent features table tennis, pool table and table football. For those wanting a little more exercise we have a dedicated dog walk area and five acre play field.
