Crake Valley Holiday Park is an award winning holiday destination found close to the shores of Coniston Water, in the beautiful Lake District in Cumbria.

The park has a number of luxurious caravans and lodges for hire, as well as a separate small camping area that can hold six tents. Caravan and lodge hire is available from early March to 1st November, with the camping field available from May to September. The camping area is nicely secluded and sheltered with mature woodland, offering direct access to the nearby Blawith Common.

The beauty of staying at Crake Valley is that guests enjoy immediate and unrivalled access to all of the wonderful activities and attractions to be found across the whole of the Lake District. Lovers of the outdoors will always find something to do, whether it’s walking the country roads and footpaths and discovering the charming villages in the area, climbing the famous peaks of the lakes, or enjoying something different such as gorge walking, caving and mountaineering. As well as being able to enjoy a range of these outdoor activities themselves, guests can also find plenty of organised pursuits and fun in the outdoors. There is a Go Ape theme park offering its distinctive treetop adventure playground for older children and adults. You can also go riding, thanks to several stables and horse-riding centres in the Lake District.

Visit Hill Top, the National Trust property, which is a popular attraction in the Lake District. Take memorable rides on the Steam Yacht Gondola on Coniston Water, which is also run by the National Trust, to enjoy a unique way of seeing the surrounding landscape. If you enjoy sailing the easy way, take advantage of a range of cruises on Coniston Water, including spending half and full days on the lake. Picnic cruises and Sunday lunch cruises on the lake are also available. There is also the option of taking the lake across Coniston and then walking back, which is popular among guests who enjoy the opportunity to stop off in a village and a country pub on their way back to Crake Valley Holiday Park.

If you're looking for relaxing days out with your family in the area why not spend the day at South Lakes Wild Animal Park? This park houses a collection of amazing animal species from around the world. The Lakes Aquarium is another great place to spend the day if the kids love sea creatures. Another great family attraction is the World of Beatrix Potter, which includes an opportunity to visit Beatrix Potter’s house. We think this is a 'must', even if you are unfamiliar with the author’s enchanting illustrations and classic children's stories.

For eating and drinking there are several pubs and restaurants in the surrounding area, with The Red Lion, The Farmers Arms, the Wilsons Arms, and the Church House Inn all within three miles. The nearest village to Crake Valley, Ulverston, has plenty of shops for buying gifts as well as stocking up on holiday essentials, while the other villages around the Lake District all offer similar amenities.

Guests looking for larger towns and cities to shop around and explore can head north and visit Carlisle or south towards Manchester, thanks to the proximity of the M6 motorway.

Crake Valley is a great base for exploring the Lake District and beyond!

Very quiet and peaceful, friendly proprietors, good clean cabins and caravans. Will be back next year.
