Hooks House Farm is a small, family-run campsite on a working farm in North Yorkshire. Set on a slope, it offers stunning views over Robin Hood's Bay, and to Ravenscar on the other side of the bay.

Hooks House Farm has pitches for tents, touring caravans and motorhomes, but there is also self catering accommodation on site. Starting with the camping facilities, some of the pitches benefit from electric hook-ups, plus guests have the use of the washblock which has showers, toilets and sinks, plus there is a kitchen area with an electric kettle, a microwave and a fridge/freezer. If you want to erect a gazebo, this must be arranged in advance and may incur an extra charge. And while this is a dog friendly campsite, you must keep your dog on a lead and clean up after it. Campfires and BBQs are not allowed. The campsite is open from 1 March until 31 October, so why not make your next camping, motorhome or caravan holiday in Yorkshire all the more memorable with a stay at Hooks House Farm, where every pitch enjoys panoramic sea and countryside views.

Alternatively, you could book some time at Hooks House Farm Cottage, a three-bedroom holiday home in Yorkshire that accommodates up to six people. One room has a double bed, another has two single beds, and bedroom three has one 4ft bed. There is also a cot. All bedding is provided, but guests are asked to bring their own towels. The holiday cottage has gas central heating, a log burning stove and a TV with Freeview and a DVD player. The kitchen is equipped with a fridge, a cooker and a microwave, plus there is a washing machine, a tumble dryer, a walk-in pantry, a toilet and a shower – and it's open all year round.

But that isn't all. The third option for your holidays in Yorkshire at Hooks House Farm is the four-berth static caravan with breathtaking sea views. Like the holiday cottage, it can be booked all year round. The master bedroom has a double bed, while the second room as two single beds. Again, bedding is provided, but towels are not. There's a lounge/dining area, a gas fire, and a TV with Freeview and a DVD player. The kitchen has a full sized, four-ring hob, a sink, a fridge, a microwave, a toaster and a kettle, while the caravan's bathroom has hot and cold water, a shower, a basin and a toilet. There's plenty parking and, of course, great views of the beautiful Yorkshire countryside.

Hooks House Farm has a stunning location. It is inside the boundary of the North York Moors National Park, meaning you've all that to explore during your camping and caravan holidays. There's also the North Yorkshire and Cleveland Heritage Coast, which is on your doorstep at this campsite, plus the seaside town and port of Whitby is only about five miles away – and it will only take you about half an hour to drive to Scarborough.

But this campsite is also great for those on two feet, good public transport links meaning you'll never be stuck without somewhere to go or something to do. Indeed, there are pubs and shops within walking distance.

This is one of the most picturesque sites I have ever stayed in, the view over Robin Hoods Bay is breathtaking.

It is based on a working farm, lovely for the children to see tractors and sheep! It is a slopping site, however, please do not let that put you off. As soon as the owners were aware of our arrival they were on hand to help us get the caravan level, they even had a spirit level to aid them!

The facilities are spotless, the showers (there are 3 for each sex) and toilets are reasonably new. There is a converted barn with sinks, a kettle and even a microwave for everyone to use free of charge.

There is no childrens play equipment, but there is a big field for them to let off steam.

There are around 10 hardstanding pitches, and plenty of room on all other pitches. A livery service is even offered if you want to bring along your horse!

There is a countryside walk into Robin Hoods Bay of about 15 minutes. Whitby is nearby, and there is a bus stop outside the site.

We also found there were a few Gluten Free places to eat out, which is very important for us as one of the family has Coeliacs Disease. In Whitby the famous and scrumptious Magpie Cafe offers Gluten Free fish and chips as does 'The Quayside'. In Robin Hoods Bay itself 'Swells' has GF sandwiches.

We will be returning....!
