Just come back from a super break during half term at the West Ayton Site. This is a very large site with over 165 pitches on both hard standing and grass pitches, all of which are of a good size. Considering its size the wardens were extremely attentive to the site. The only down side to the site is the shower blocks. Whilst they are of the usual high standards we come to expect from CC sites, there just aren't enough showers for a site of this size. Only three male showers in the two shower blocks meant you often found yourself second or third in the queue. Apart from that the site is ideally placed for the seaside towns of Scarborough, Filey, Bridlington and Whitby. but no matter what you do you must try the Denison Arms in West Ayton for a meal. The portions are immense.

Clearly the coli`s above had a bad experience. We visit this site at least once per year purely because of the friendliness of the wardens and the facilities. This is an exceptional site with loads of space for the kids to play - see you soon Terry - The Hickman Clan

We have visited this site on a number of occassions now and our last trip was over the New Year period last year. We have always found the wardens here to be friendly and happy to help out to make everyone's trip go smoothly. We joined the wardens and our fellow campers for the celebrations on New Years Eve which involved a disco, buffet, drinks and charity raffle all laid on by the wardens. We had a brilliant time and everyone was in good spirits. When we woke on New Years Day we discovered heavy snow which last about an hour and meant everyone was stuck on the site for the morning!! We ventured out for a walk into the village and enjoyed another excellent meal at the local pub - Denison Arms in West Ayton which is about 10 minute walk from the site. There is also a Spar shop and other pubs/restaurant and a fish and chip shop in the village. The site is about 15 minute drive from Scarborough where you can enjoy all the usual seaside activities all year round. We highly recommend this spacious site, the toilet facilities are a good standard and are always nice and clean. There are nice country walks nearby and a play area and playing field for the children. We will definitely be visiting again in the future, we've booked again for this New Year!!

Well located site although the shower blocks are dated. The site is prone to water logging after a small amount of rain. Shop sells on goods bought in Aldi at an inflatted price.

Be warned the wardens are confrontational and arenn't very friendly.

Our opinion the site is over priced and over rated!
