The campsite is situated just on the outskirts of the Quiant village of St. Jory de Chalais, just 4 kms off theN21 main road and well within an easy walking distance.Camping Maisonneuve is a small friendly campsite with 40 pitches/placements so as you can imaginespace is really not a problem on 25 acres of land! All pitches are at least 100 sq m and boarded by trees or shrub. Every pitch has an electrical point hook up (remember your adapter!) sixteen of which also have water connection points. The design of each pitch was made with space in mind. No pitch or placement will you ever encounter more than two neighbours unlike some where four or five is quite normal.Open from:

Hiking / Walking
Here, in the small commune of St. Jory de Chalais we are situated in the most beautiful countryside. Within a radius of just a few miles newly signposted pathways have been designed especilally for this purpose, covering walks from five to twenty miles. Superb walks! How else can you get a better understanding of the history surrounding this fabulous area.
Again as with the above, tracks have been designed for mountain bikers. These will really test your endurance if you wish. On the other hand you can take a less strenuous ride on one of the more simple ones if you require.
Fishing at the campsite
On site we have a small pond ideally suited for two or three people. The pond was stocked full of Roach,Perch, Tench and Carp with the beginner in mind. Plenty of fish, plenty to catch.
Try for yourself and of course it's free and nightfishing is allowed!
Horse riding opportunities are found within10 miles of the campsite. We would be happy to give you more details on arrival.
In the small village of St. Jory de Chalais just half a mile from our campsite you will find the first and only rope course in France. Tuition is available and courses start at very low cost for a days training and all within the personal limits of the pupil.
Our campsite caters for the touring motorcyclist having it's own corner of the site. We also can offer accomodation in a chalet for two persons or in a Mobilhome for four or five bikers. The Périgord is especially suited to the experienced motorcycle enthusiast
with it's long hilly roads and sweeping bends.
