York Caravan Park is the only 5 Star adult only caravan site in York. The park has pitches for motorhomes, touring caravans, and tents. All of the pitches found at York Caravan Park are super pitches, benefitting from 16A electric, water, drainage, television hook-ups and WiFi, to ensure guests can enjoy the maximum level of comfort and convenience during their stay on the site. This is one of the group of 40 Tranquil Touring Parks, all of which are independently owned high-end caravan parks for adults only.

Fully serviced grass and hard standing pitches are available depending on guests’ own preference, while there is also a small wooded area on the site that is ideal for barbecues and picnics. In addition, guests will also find a nature lake, and a dog walking area that can be used during their stay.

A half-hourly bus service runs from the site entrance to York and beyond.

There is a generous selection of local attractions and amenities to be found close to the site. There are several public houses within two miles of the park, the most popular of which is the Toby Carvery at Hopgrove, which can be found a short walk away. Also a short distance from the park guests will find an array of food outlets. In addition to Giraffe, Prezzo, Frankie & Benny's, Pizza Hut and McDonalds, there are Indian, Chinese, and Fish & Chips restaurants to be found close by. Those needing shopping facilities will find a local bakery and supermarket close by, with the Monks Cross Retail Park a one mile drive from the park site.

Additional eating and shopping facilities can be found in the centre of York; guests can get there by driving, by taking the bus from York Caravan Park (takes 10 mins), walking (approx 45 mins) or by driving to the park and ride station at Monks Cross and heading into the city on the bus provided.

York is more popular as a tourist city for its historic attractions and huge number of sights to see rather than its shopping and entertainment facilities, despite them being world class in their own right.

While York is a wonderful place to explore at leisure, there are some attractions throughout the city that simply have to be seen and experienced. These include York Minster – a stunning, Gothic building that is the largest of its kind in northern Europe. The building’s tower offers unrivalled views, guests just need the energy to take the 275 stairs to the top!
The Shambles is one of the most famous medieval streets in the United Kingdom, great for photo opportunities and checking out quaint restaurants and local businesses.

Visit Jorvik Viking Centre for a fun and informative day out, where everyone is sure to learn something they didn’t already know.

What many don’t realise about York is that it also has a number of beautiful parks and open spaces, perfect for romantic walks and picnics, while the River Ouse and River Foss also offer a number of walking routes and an opportunity to check out the city’s best attractions via boat rather than on foot.
