we have been staying at St Mabyn for the last 5 years under both this name and the previous name of Glenmorris, it was very special to us as we took our son there for his first holiday, also my honeymoon and we got engaged during one holiday whilst staying at this site so has always had a special meaning to us. we have made sure we have returned for a minimum of two weeks with either two touring caravans or a touring caravan and a static during the 5 years. this year i have been disgusted by the lack of concern and management provided by the site. My mum stayed in the static caravan called Breeze, i assure you the experience was less than breezy. on arrival the doors never shut on the toilet or bedrooms, there was mould in the fridge which was also unplugged, the roof is bulging from damp, the toilet leaked, boiler extremely loud, large bleach stains on carpet, damp bedrooms leaving asthmatic members of the family struggling of a night to breathe. we had to buy replacement bedding as the damp smell refused to leave the bedding we had taken even after boil washing. We also had members of staff attempting to enter when family members slept without permission I feel this is personally an invasion of privacy and leaving my personal items extremely unsecured as at no point are you told members of staff will access the van when your not in it or whilst you are sleeping. We attempted to complain on multiple occasions to try and resolve the issues to be told we was wrong and that it was never an issue before. On returning home my mum sent a full email of complaint listing all the issues in which we had experienced and had discussed whilst on site to have no reply a month after the email was sent, this led to us ringing for an explanation as to why there has been no response and to ask if the email had been received, we spoke to the owner of site who accused us of ruining the caravan and when we asked for further details on how he refused to tell us and went very quiet when we told him we took photos of the van when we arrived so that we could prove how it had been upon arrival. My mum has terminal cancer and our family holiday is extremely important to us, we have shown loyalty to St Mabyn and its owners since the beginning and this is the first time we have complained to have the response we have had is disgusting and they should be ashamed we will not be returning to this site as management clearly have a lack of regard to customers since acquiring their new site
