If you're looking for a glamping, caravanning, camper van, camping or motorhome holiday in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, Masons Campsite offers each of these types of camping holiday. The campsite is set in Appletreewick, a pretty village right in the centre of the Yorkshire Dales. It's popular with hikers and cyclists doing the Dalesway or the coast-to-coast Way of the Roses route.

The campsite is beside the River Wharfe, and you can paddle in it or stroll beside it to one of the two local pubs (a two-minute walk). Walk further along the river on the Dalesway footpath and you'll soon reach Bolton Abbey, Burnsall, Linton or Grassington.

Facilities at Masons Campsite include a shop selling milk, bacon, eggs, beans, cereals, locally made ice-creams, sweets and camping accessories. There are free hot showers in a heated toilet block, laundry facilities, a disabled/family room, baby changing facilities, a toddler seat, wash hand basins, hairdryers in the ladies (20p) and an area for washing up the dishes. There's also a chemical disposal and grey water emptying point.

The main field is where you'll find touring pitches with 10Amp electric hook-ups, suitable for caravans, motorhomes and campers. There is also a riverside field, which is open only at certain times of the year and has no hook-ups. This is for tents only.

Fire Pits with a bag of wood, and extra bags of chopped wood are available on a first-come-first-served basis.

Masons Campsite welcomes Duke of Edinburgh Award participants and offers a low nightly fee for backpackers and cyclists, but you will need to book in advance.

If you like the idea of a motorhome holiday, but don't own your own van, why not hire a VW camper van from Masons Campsite? They're ideal for anyone who wants to try a VW camper, without having to drive it anywhere. The camper vans sleep up to four people (two in the rock-and-roll double bed and two in a double bed in the awning bedroom, if you specify that you want one). Cooking in a camper van is fun, and you'll soon discover that 2 gas rings is all you need. Pots, pans, crockery, cutlery, camping table and chairs are all supplied. Minimum hire is for two nights most of the year, three nights when there's a bank holiday weekend.

For fans of glamping holidays, there's a beautiful vintage 1966 Airstream caravan for hire. The Airstream is an American classic, dubbed the 'Silver Bullet' and this one's an Overlander called Joe Blu. This barn find has been rescued from Ohio, imported and restored lovingly by the owners of Masons Campsite. At 26ft long, it sleeps up to four people in a pull-out double bed and two bunk beds. There's a log burning stove inside to keep you warm in style on your Getaway Glamping holiday. Duvets, bed linen and pillows are provided. You just need to bring clothes and towels.

Glamping in a canvas bell tent is also on offer at Masons Campsite. Rent-a-tent with two double mattresses and an optional single bed and enjoy the best of all worlds – the fresh air and picturesque views of the countryside and a comfortable bed! Bell tent hire includes fairy lights, head torches, a log burning stove, cooking utensils, a two-ring hob, outside canopy area with seating for eating and socialising together. When you go glamping in a bell tent you just need to bring your own bedding and towels.

Near Masons Campsite you'll find three pubs within walking distance. The Craven Arms Pub and Cruck Barn is just three minutes away in Appletreewick, the New Inn at Appletreewick is five minutes away and the Red Lion at Burnsall is just a 20-minute walk along the river bank. They all serve food.

You can buy local meat at the butchers in Grassington – and they'll give you a discount if you take a business card from the office at Masons Campsite along with you.

There's a delicatessen in Grassington, too, where you can buy cheeses, cooked meats, cakes, fresh fruit and vegetables to make your own glamping picnics, caravan cuisine and motorhome meals. They also sell baguettes with various sandwich fillings and even hampers for campers!
