Situated just outside the village of Ivinghoe in Buckinghamshire, off the B489, near the Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire borders and at the foot of the Chiltern Hills, Town Farm Camping & Caravanning is quite a new campsite, but has a lot to offer.

Based at Town Farm, a working farm, this peaceful campsite is open all year round and welcomes guests in caravans, motorhomes, campervans, trailer tents and tents – there are no designated pitches, its beauty is its informality. There are also pre-pitched Karsten handmade tents and cottages on site that you can rent, meaning it's a campsite that many people can enjoy time at.

At Town Farm Camping & Caravanning you'll find everything you need for your motorhome tour or camping and caravan holiday in Buckinghamshire. There are indoor and outdoor showers, male and female toilets, a disabled toilet and shower, washing up facilities, a tumble dryer and washing machine, electric hook-ups and a chemical waste disposal point. To keep you entertained, you can get online, or enjoy a game of tennis on the tennis court, or take the kids to the children's play area. And, as this is a family campsite, guests are reminded that there is a no noise policy in place after 11pm – no music of any kind is permitted on site. Hook-ups are £2.50 a night. In addition, Duke of Edinburgh parties are welcomed.

The site has good drainage and visitors will be able to enjoy fantastic views over the Vale of Aylesbury. Stay here and you'll also be able to enjoy the fun of cooking al fresco, as fire pits can be hired, there is dry, seasoned wood for sale, and small open fires and barbecues are allowed, so long as they're raised off the ground so as to not damage the grass. It is also handy to know that this is a dog friendly campsite, your four-legged friends costing £2 per night, by prior arrangement. Owners must keep their dogs on a lead at all times and must clean up after them.

Town Farm Camping & Caravanning has a rural, away from it feel, but it is also very well connected, meaning you'll never be short of things to do on your camping and caravan holidays.

A day out at ZSL Whipsnade Zoo will be great fun for all the family – and it's just a 10-minute drive from this campsite. And as you're staying in such a pretty area, why not explore the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The Grand Union Canal also passes very close to Town Farm Camping & Caravanning, and you can enjoy gentle ambles along the tow path, or perhaps book a boat ride. The 223m high Ivinghoe Beacon is also very near this campsite, this the place where two famous paths meet, the Icknield Way and The Ridgeway. Indeed, if walking holidays are your cup of tea, there are plenty of miles to explore in this area.

If you need to top up your holiday supplies, Tring is only 10 minutes from this site by car and Berkhamsted is about a 20-minute drive away. If you need to go somewhere a bit bigger, it's a 20-minute drive to Aylesbury, about a quarter of an hour to Dunstable, half an hour to Luton and 20 minutes to Leighton Buzzard.

Its idyllic setting and useful location mean that if you're searching for campsites in the Chilterns to give you the best of both worlds on your motorhome and campervan tours or camping and caravan holidays, perhaps you should give Town Farm Camping and Caravanning a try.
