The Sycamores Lodge & Statics Caravan Park

York, North Yorkshire

Enquire Now You enquired

Open all year round, The Sycamores is a holiday park in Yorkshire, that is part of the Nelson Parks group.

Here you'll find a collection of timber lodges and static caravans that are all privately owned, perfect if you're looking for somewhere to return to, to make your permanent holiday retreat. This small, quiet park is a lovely place to do just that. Every lodge or caravan has its own private garden and car parking, plus there is parking for guests.

One half of the park is due to be re-developed - Follow our Facebook page to keep up to date!

The Sycamores is a small and friendly holiday park, but if you ever want to get out and about to see the local area, it is very well placed to do that. The park sits between the delightfully name villages of Barmby Moor and Wilberfoss. Both are useful places to go. Barmby Moor has a pub and a post office, plus, every July, a traditional fete called the Barmby Feast is held in the village. In Wilberfoss you will find more pubs and shops, making it useful for topping up your supplies on your self-catering holidays.

The small market town Pocklington is also just a 10-minute drive from The Sycamores. Maybe you'd like to go to the Burnby Hall Gardens, Pocklington Arts Centre or play a round of golf at the nearby KP Club.

The park is also near the A1079, meaning it's easy to get to and from, so you can explore further afield. Indeed, join this road and in a touch over half an hour (by car) you could be in the wonderful and historic walled city of York. Many people visit York for its history, the castle, the impressive minster, walls, The Shambles and the Jorvik Viking Centre among the city's most popular attractions. It is also a great place to go if you want a meal out, so you can forget about the cooking and washing up on your holidays.

If you'd like to visit Scarborough and experience a quintessentially British day out, it's a little over an hour away by car from this park and kids of all ages will love the beach. There is also Scarborough Castle, a Sea Life Sanctuary and an open air theatre here, for something a little different. You might also like to visit Hull, which will be the UK City of Culture in 2017 and which is only a 45-minute drive from this holiday park. Things to do in Hull include seeing the spectacular Humber Bridge, going to the Streetlife Museum of Transport, seeing the Arctic Corsair and Holy Trinity Church, and enjoying time simply wandering around the Old Town and Hull Marina.

At the foot of the Yorkshire Wolds in the East Riding of Yorkshire, The Sycamores is a good base for those wanting to explore the natural beauty of this area. From the Howardian Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty to the North York Moors National Park, to the North Yorkshire and Cleveland Heritage Coast, the Flamborough Headland Heritage Coast and the Lower Derwent Valley National Nature Reserve, there is so much to discover on foot or on two wheels – whatever takes your fancy.
