The Old Hill Inn

Ingleton, North Yorkshire

Enquire Now You enquired

If a stunning location is enough to seduce you when it comes to choosing where to pitch your motorhome or caravan, then this small campsite in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales might be just what you are after.

The Old Hill Inn is a Caravan Club Certificated Location (CL), meaning it has a licence to permit up to five caravans or motorhomes to pitch here at a time. All pitches are hardstanding, plus there is a toilet disposal facility, water and a grassy play area, however there are no electric hook-ups at present. This CL is in the grounds of The Old Hill Inn and it is open all year round.

In addition, there is accommodation available at the pub itself. The Old Hill Inn has two en suite bedrooms, one of which is a double, the other is a twin. Each room has tea and coffee making facilities and fresh fruit, plus a TV, hair dryers and details about the local area, to help you find your way around and plan your stay. Breakfast is included and you can choose from a full English breakfast, cereals, croissants and more.

Of course, whether you've come to stay at The Old Hill Inn for your motorhome or caravan holidays or in the pub's rooms, a wonderful advantage is that you can enjoy the food and drink served at this ancient pub, parts of which date back to 1615. And as one of the pub's chefs is a pastry chef, that's another reason to want to come here.

Visit North Yorkshire on your holidays and the natural world is ready and waiting for you to explore it. This CL and pub is in the hamlet of Chapel-le-Dale, a perfect destination if you love walking holidays, as you're spoilt for choice. The Ingleton Waterfalls Trail, the Yorkshire Three Peaks Walk and the Dales Highway all cross this area, as well as many other footpaths. The village of Ingleton, which sits on the A65, is just a 10-minute drive from this CL. If you're looking for somewhere more substantial, you could try the coastal town of Morecambe, which is just under an hour away by car, or Lancaster which is about a 45-minute drive from this campsite, while both Blackburn and Preston are just over an hour's drive from The Old Hill Inn. In addition, in an hour and a half you could be in Harrogate, in about an hour and 45 minutes you could be in Leeds, or if a day beside the seaside takes your fancy, drive to Blackpool in about an hour and a quarter.

However, most people spending their holidays in the Yorkshire Dales come here in order to get away from it all and to enjoy the natural beauty and wildlife found here – this is a great region for bird watching.

Visit the Yorkshire Dales National Park and as well as walking you could go cycling or horse riding. Or maybe you'd like to go rock climbing or caving, fell running, geocaching, hang gliding, paragliding, windsurfing, canoeing or sailing. After all that exertion, you'll be in need of sustenance, and there are many pubs in the area that are sure to come to your rescue.

So if you're looking for a quiet and beautiful retreat from the world on your motorhome and caravan holidays in Yorkshire, why not try the CL at The Old Hill Inn.
