For a peaceful break, visit North Yorkshire and stay at Burrows Park.

This campsite, which is about a half hour drive to the north west of York and also about a half hour drive north east of Harrogate, is owned and run by the Kay family. It's a family friendly and dog friendly campsite, welcoming visitors in tents, caravans, trailer tents, campervans and motorhomes (up to 30 feet long), and it is open all year round.

There are a variety of different pitches at Burrows Park. Tents are accommodated in two sections of the park, on flat, good sized pitches, some with and some without 240V/16A electric hook-ups.

If you're staying in a touring caravan, you can choose to book a grass pitch or a gravel pitch, all of which have 240V/16A electric hook-ups. Motorhomes are invited to pitch on hardstanding, gravel pitches, with 240V/16A electric hook-ups.

In addition, there are 60 seasonal pitches, plus caravan storage and a 'store and stay' service are both offered. There's also a four-acre rally field at Burrows Park that's available to hire.

This is a neatly landscaped campsite with a good range of facilities to ensure your stay is a comfortable one. The amenities block has toilets, basins and showers, and has facilities for disabled guests, plus a family friendly bathroom. Guests also have access to a dishwashing and food preparation area, plus many drinking water points, as well as 2 Elsan chemical disposal points and a motorhome service point. Tourist information is available and there's a dedicated dog walking area, too. You might like to enjoy an al fresco meal at one of the picnic tables and there is even an on-site car mechanic.

Burrows Park is in the village of Great Ouseburn, where you'll find a shop, a post office and a children's playground, so your everyday needs are well serviced within walking distance of this campsite, while the pubs and restaurants in the towns and villages surrounding this park will give you plenty of options if you fancy a night off cooking.

You might like to visit York, as it is only about a 30-minute drive away. There are lots of things to do in this historic, walled city. Discover York Minster, walk the city's walls, tour the York Castle Museum or wander through the York Maze. A wander round the streets of The Shambles is a lovely way to spend a few hours, or perhaps the National Railway Museum takes your fancy.

Or as Burrows Park is equidistant from York and Harrogate, you might like to visit Harrogate. Enjoy the RHS Garden Harlow Carr – there are plenty of events and activities taking place here across the year, and you'd not want to leave before enjoying a drink and a cake at Bettys Café Tea Rooms. Leeds is also about a 45-minute drive away.

The wild beauty of the North York Moors is also accessible from this campsite. Whether walking, cycling, mountain biking, fell running, watersports, horse riding, gliding or rock climbing take your fancy, there are plenty of ways to see this magnificent national park.

We hope you enjoy your motorhome, camping and caravan holidays in Yorkshire – you can be assured of a warm welcome at Burrows Park.
