Shore Caravan Site

After being very excited to visit this campsite on our NC500 trip I have to say on arrival we were a little disappointed. After a long journey and keen to start to wind down we went to check in on arrival and were told quite abruptly to just 'go and sit over there on the benches as we have had a milk delivery that we need to deal with first'. This did not set a good first impression. We then proceeded to check in and the member of staff was friendly enough.

We were not a fan of the fact there were no set pitch spaces, the layout was a free for all and wherever you could find a space. This made it cramped with people clustered around the electric hook up points etc.

The facilities were okay. It was clean but showers were not powerful enough/ draining well.

We have to say the beach is beautiful so that was a good side to this stop over. However we were supposed to stay for two nights but left early to go to our next camp. It was slightly annoying that you cannot check out before 10am as there is nobody there before then. You would think with people wanting to start big journeys/adventures the next day you would be able to check out at at least a lot earlier than 10am and also to collect your deposit back for the keys they hand you to use the facilities.

Overall we would not recommend this site.

The owners of the site are really good, I called up in advance and was told to pay when I saw them if we arrived late.

If you go ear;y or late in the season then some of the facilities (cafe and shop) will be shut, but that's not a problem.

The facilities are a little poor, there are a lot of toilets and showers, but they are all a little small (or badly designed/installed) and half the showers and toilets were out of order.

Nice but a little disappointing.
