The area is abundant with a number of walks through small local villages to suit all abilities and ages. The local pubs offer good food and a welcoming environment and quite often allow children on the premises at certain times of the day. Within 20 minutes drive you can find yourself on the banks of Lake Coniston with sailing, canoeing and fishing available upon request. For the less energetic, why not take a visit to the Ravenglass Scenic Railway?
