In the village of Crakehall is Greengate Farm camping and caran site, the most peaceful site we have stayed on, the site is just what we were looking for, adult only, dog friendly with walks and a local friendly pub within walking distance from site, Stella and Steve keep the site immaculate and have worked very hard to keep it like this, we can highly recommend Greengate Farm if you want a very relaxing weekend or more away in the countryside.

Lovely views, great toilet and washing up facilities and a large grassed area for the children to play (which you can’t see from the caravan). No dog walking area as advertised, the owner was welcoming at first, however had little patience with children and a stickler for the rules. A great site for adults only, however wouldn’t recommend it for dogs or families with children. Also you’ll have to be ok with the owner checking up on you every 5mins, we felt we were constantly being watched!
