Stayed for 2 nights on 5th & 6th August 2022 and had all of this space to myself! A lovely owner, 5 star for hygiene for the toilets, showers and washing up area. Obviously peacefulness is down to the guests but during my stay I hardly heard a voice never mind hearing any noise. There are plenty of scenic walks with great views.

The site also has EHU although I went non-EHU. It was absolutely perfect stay and I will definitely return and would recommend to anyone who is looking for a quiet relaxing break.

A small, quite but basic site surrounded by mature conifers, just off the A68 making it idea for touring Durham, Newcastle the North Pennines or a stop off on the way further North.

A line of 6 Amps electric hook-ups run down a slopping field just to the right of the site entrance is where most of the touring caravans are directed by the kind and helpful warden.

Each pitch is marked by a pair of levelled paving slaps, providing ample space between neighbours. Chemical waste, wastewater and rubbish bins are located at one central point, half way down the field tucked next to the tree line. Fresh water taps are available between every other electric hook-up point.

Toilet, shower and dishwashing facilities are in one block at the top, about half way along the site, close to the main tent pitches.

There is a short dog walk through a line of trees and two sets of children’s swings; infant at the top and the older ones at the bottom.

In summary, a good simple quite site for touring the local area, but be aware of the limited mains power supply and leaving with a touring caravan may prove difficult after heavy and prolonged rain.
