Situated below LOCHES (the capital of South Touraine), La Citadelle campsite is in an ideal location next to the Indre river, giving you an exceptional panoramic view of the historic medieval town (a 5 minute walk from the centre).

A medieval town surrounded by 2.2km of intact ramparts and crowned by its Logis Royal (Royal Lodgings) dating back to the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries (home to Charles VII’s famous mistress Agnès Sorel) and the 11th century keep (where L Sforza was gaoled), birthplace of the writer Alfred de Vigny and the actor Jacques Villeret, Loches has been classed as a city of art and history.
