Worst experience of a camp site ever. Phoned the site day before departing and told they don't take bookings but they always have tent pitches.
Drove for two hours with two children only to be told we couldn't camp because it had been raining and the ground was wet. (what do they expect in Donegal?). Totally unhelpful and uncaring owner. Had to turn around and returned home. Need to jump into the 21st century and go on a customer care training course. Donegal often complain about a lack of tourists coming to the county, well no wonder when this is the kind of 'service' they offer. A total embarrassment to such a beautiful county.

Friendly Relaxed Caravan Park. Lively Atmosphere. Safe for Children: We stayed with 2 other families in Touring Caravans. We had 7 Children aged from 1 to 17. The owners were very helpful, the facilities were basic but clean and well maintained. The site is right on the beach and within walking distance of shops and restaurants. The bay is sheltered by a ring of mountains so the wind was not like being on the Atlantic. We had such a good time we stayed 2 extra nights. We will be back!

Awful place! The beach and harbour area are lovely but are spoiled by this 3rd world version of a modern campsite. I pity the people there who have permanent sites.
It was noisy, crowded with no seeming definition of pitches.
Drunks made it impossible to sleep until the early hours of the morning.
Never again11

Had always wanted to visit downings and when i did with my family was very disappointed the charges per night where ridiculous there is an extra 10 euro per night to pitch your awning!! Plus 2 euro to use the shower. The site never stopped with drunk people all night the noise was excessive and not family friendly

I stayed here with my young family and was very disappointed. We were told on the phone the charge for touring caravan was 20 euro per night plus 5 euro per night electricity, however when we arrived we were informed that to erect an awning was an extra 10 euro per night!! Plus 2 euro for the showers. On top of this it was extremely noisy come night time, we were wakend countless times throughout the night by loud shouting, fighting etc this went on until the sun was coming up, had planned to stay a week and left after 2 days. Beach is beautiful

We stayed at Caseys in May 2009. We found the site very 'down at heel', tatty, not very clean. All in all, not worth anywhere near what is being charged. However, the site is in an amazing area and, if you go to Donegal (which you should), you must do the nearby Atlantic Drive. Also, it's right next to the beach so would be good for families but don't expect anything fancy, you will be disappointed!!
