Westport House is a charming caravan park set in more than 400 acres of parkland within the sprawling Westport House estate. This family run caravan site is one of the most popular campsites in Ireland, and welcomes families with touring caravans, motorhomes, and tents. Facilities available on the site include a shower block, a laundrette, recycling points, and Wi-Fi internet. There are also areas on-site for guests to enjoy a picnic, while those making the most of self-catering can use the washing up facilities whenever they wish.

A bar and café is found on the premises, where guests can enjoy the best food and drink available, while live entertainment is also provided during the evening.

There is plenty to do at Westport House during the day, and the site has a range of award-winning attractions within the estate that guests can enjoy at a discounted rate. These include the historic “Big House,” featuring exhibitions, tea rooms, and over 30 rooms open for exploring, the Pirate Adventure Park, which is ideal for children under 12 years old and for parents looking to give little ones space to burn off energy, and the Adventure Activity Centre, which has something for all ages and is a great place to spend a day.

Guests can also choose to spend their holidays exploring the parkland around the estate, where they will find a playground, sandpit, beautifully landscaped and manicured gardens, open spaces for ball games, and miles of charming trails. Adjacent to Westport House, a range of ‘farmyard activities’ are offered, including table tennis and pitch and putt golf. There is also an activity room with a jukebox and television, while elsewhere guests will find an indoor soft play facility, ideal for younger children.

Anglers will also find plenty of spots for fishing on the site, and will enjoy many opportunities for spending a day by the water. Guests can go fishing in the river or the lake, while those wanting to have fishing days out away from the park have miles of riverside, lakes, and coastline to choose from.

This region also has a range of tourist attractions to enhance your tent, motorhome and caravan holidays in Ireland, with many of them found a short distance from the park. If you like golfing holidays you'll be glad to know that there are high class 18 hole golf courses, for those who want more than the pitch and putt facility offered at Westport House. Other activities you can enjoy on holiday in Ireland include pony trekking, walking through miles of scenic countryside and coastline, and visiting beautiful safe, sandy beaches that are ideal for everything from paddling to surfing.

There is much to do in Westport itself, with many great pubs and restaurants available, as well as a cinema, leisure centre, and spa facility. If you like to get active during your holidays, you can even enjoy mountain climbing nearby, while if you are happy to drive a little distance, you will find a wide range of lakes, country parks, and other wonderful attractions nearby.

Although Westport House is found in a relatively quiet part of Ireland, guests have everything they need for an exciting stay at their fingertips, enabling them to have a great deal of fun while feeling suitably detached from the ‘real world.’ Put it on your list of good campsites in County Mayo, Ireland.
