Cross Inn Caravan Park is a small campsite adjacent to the Cross Inn public house, on the southern edge of the Peak District National Park and a short distance east of Stoke-on-Trent.
This caravan park has 25 touring pitches and 20 tent pitches. There are also seven static caravans available for holiday hire, while en-suite accommodation is offered in the Cross Inn itself.
Cross Inn Caravan Park is open from March 1st to September 30th, with guests able to eat and drink in the pub. A children’s play area is available for little ones to enjoy. Live entertainment is held in the Cross Inn on the first Saturday of every month.
If you love the great outdoors, you'll find much to entertain you on your motorhome, camping and caravan holidays in the Peak District. Enjoy walking, cycling, pony trekking, climbing, abseiling and more. Never tried geocaching? Then why not have a go on your holidays here. There is just so much to see and do if you visit the Peak District. Spend time in Bakewell or Buxton, or take in the famous Chatsworth House.
Pitched at Cross Inn Caravan Park, a short way off the A52, you're in a great place to explore this area, being on a fast route to many of the sights and attractions of this region, as well as the Peak District that this site sits just to the south of. This is a beautiful part of the country, the natural beauty attracting many, as well as the area's welcoming towns and villages. Larger settlements are also nearby, such as Stoke-on-Trent which is 30 minutes from this campsite, Macclesfield which is a 45-minute drive away and Derby which is about a 40-minute drive.
Or maybe a day of retail therapy is what you want? Then visit Birmingham, a great destination for shopaholics and only an 80-minute drive from this campsite. Manchester is also doable, a 90-minute drive away, and a bustling, thriving city that's a fabulous place for a day out, packed with things to do and places to eat. Another option is Sheffield, an 80-minute drive away, the famous Crucible Theatre one of the city's best known attractions.
Horse racing enthusiasts will find the racecourse at Uttoxeter a short, 30-minute drive to the south – with regular meetings held throughout the year, this is a great choice for a day out. While motorsport fans might be pleased to know that Donington Park Circuit is less than an hour from Cross Inn Caravan Park by car, with two- and four-wheeled action taking place throughout the year.
There are a number of popular theme parks in the area, too, with Alton Towers and Drayton Manor among the best found anywhere in the United Kingdom – the former is a 10-minute drive from this campsite, the latter a little over an hour away.
Cross Inn Caravan Park is a good base for exploring the Peak District and beyond, as well as serving guests tasty locally sourced food and drink, so they can enjoy time away from the kitchen when on holiday – and there's no washing up, either!

Hi The first review on this page is from Aug 2008 and has nothing to do with the current owners. The new owners are lovely people, very warm and friendly, the camp site has had a lot of work done to it and the shower block and toilet are cleaned at least twice a day. The pub and restaurant have fantastic food from £5.00 a head, with a range of good real ales (cask) and beers. I can not recommend this place enough you are only 2 and a half miles from Alton towers so very easy to get to
