Stayed here with the kids (ages 8,6,5)and dog and found this campsite to be one of the best we have stayed at.Its really clean and tidy, kids loved the under floor heating in the bathroom area, laundry area with everything you need to hand. The play park is totally safe and visible from nearly every pitch.Nice big area of grass for them to run around on and play footy etc.Lovely areas to walk the dog(who thoroughly enjoyed chasing the rabbits)!! Nicely situated for both Thirsk and North Allerton.Really handy is the Dog and Gun pub that offer a takeout service (food !)a few days of the week and cater for children too with good portions and most enjoyable!! All in all, this site is perfect for families who want a peace and quiet getaway.I cant recommend it enough as all the reviews above show...Well done Hillside !!
: July in 2011Hi we have just returned home from a very enjoyable 7 night stay. This was our second visit to this site and certainly wont be our last. Hillside caravan park
Must be the cleanest site we have stayed on. As for the pitches these are well spaced out and mostly fully serviced. There is a heated amenity block again spotless, this comprises of Ladies and Gents Toilets and Showers, a Laundry Room and a Dishwashing room. Also on site is a spacious play area for the kids and ample Dog walking areas. There is also an information hut thrown in. Not forgetting the outstanding views and local attractions. Ther is something for everyone right on your Caravan step. We would recommend this site to anyone Well Impressed
This was one of the best sites we have visited so far, The owners Chris and Pat have got everything spot on. The pitches are fully serviced with water, waste and ariel socket, the views are amazing there is a lovely play area for the kids a lovely dog walk it really suits everyone. The toilets and showers are spotless and lovely and warm. We will definately be returning.
: August in 2011just returned from a short break at this site, and what a beautiful site it is.from the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome by the owners.pitches are fully serviced and quite spacious.the views are outstanding.the toilets are the cleanest i have seen,i can reccomend the fresh eggs for sale at reception.also the food at the "dog and gun" is well worth a try.all in all a great site
: June in 2011This is a very nice and friendly site with excellent facilities. The surrounding views are lovely and the childrens park is clearly visible from the pitches. The toilet and shower facilities are excellent and the owners are very friendly and will help you where they can if you have any problems. We stayed on a fully serviced pitch which had a TV aerial point and a chemical waste disposal point on top of the usual water feed etc. I would recommend this site to my friends and family.
: May in 2011We visited this park in July and found it the best site we have been to yet. The location is excellent and the pitches are superb, with electricity, TV/SAT Aerial point, Elsan disposal and water point at the pitch. There is a good children's play area visible from almost every pitch and a fish pond for the keen angler. The Amenity block is spotless and the underfloor heating is like home from home! The owners, Chris and Pat Cook are really friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. For a relaxing weekend, this site is a must try.

Hillside is a very popular caravan park with prestine facilities. the pitches offer generous amounts of room on a pea gravel hardstanding. on the pitch they have their own fresh water, waste water hook ups as with their own elsan point they also have tv Aerial hook as well. for those who want to stay intouch with their friends and family their is WiFi connection for a small charge.
their is a good play park for the kids with plenty of room to run around and burn off some energy.
just off site thier is lots of fantastic walks for those who like to explore. as with the Dog & Gun public house just down the road from the site of which sells good food and good ale.
all in all this site is well worth a look but due to this site being very popular early booking is advised.

Located on the edge of the North York Moors National Park, but still within easy reach of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, this site makes a useful and pleasant base for walking in some of England’s most striking countryside.
The Yorkshire Dales are better known, but the North York Moors also offer exciting walking. This National Park has very distinctive landscapes; from tracts of heather to lush green dales. One of the lesser visited parks, you will find a wonderful sense of solitude here.
If you tire of the countryside, Rievaulx Abbey, the first Cistercian monastery to be founded in England, and the small city of Rippon make good day trips.
Or you can just put your feet up. The site is on a working farm and surrounded by open fields. The atmosphere is relaxed and the site has been carefully organised so you never feel crowded.
All pitches are hardstanding with electric hook-up and water point. Washroom, washing-up and laundry facilities are also provided. There is a play area and plenty of room for children to play ball games.
