Practical Caravan Top Sites for Castles May 2005
Lodge Farm, a family-run operation that has diversified into a handful of businesses, is located in Warwickshire, just outside the substantial market town of Rugby (birthplace, of course, of the game involving the oval ball). This location provides good access to the part of Northamptonshire that lies west of the M1.
Medium-sized and set in pleasant open countryside, the Lodge Farm caravan site consists of a single field attached to the very attractive, flower-bedecked farmhouse and its outbuildings.
All of the pitches have electric hook-ups and are within easy reach of the
washing-up and sanitary facilities, located at the end of one of the farm buildings. The sanitary facilities are centrally heated and are equipped with push-button showers.
This site is popular with families who want to holiday with non-caravanning relatives. There is a selection of self-catering holiday cottages that can be rented out.
Cars must be parked in the farmyard to minimise wear and tear on the grass. However, special requests for cars to be allowed onto the pitch will be considered.
From the site, it’s an easy walk to the nearest pubs: the Sheaf and Sickle in one direction, The Bear in the other, both of which serve food.
A mini-market is close to The Bear, about five minutes’ walk from the site. The nearest bus stop is also next to The Bear. It’s a five minute drive into the centre of Rugby.
