Bryn Bach Country Park

Bryn Bach Country Park in Glamorgan is a stunning, three-star, family friendly campsite set in 340 acres of beautiful Welsh countryside. The park welcomes motorhomes, touring caravans and tents.

If you're looking for somewhere to spend your camping, motorhome and caravan holidays in Wales, the 40 pitches at Bryn Bach Country Park might be just what you need. All of the caravan and motorhome pitches are serviced with electric hook ups. There are also showers, toilets, basins and shaving points, laundry facilities with washing machines, tumble dryers and irons, a water point, a chemical disposal point and a public telephone.

This campsite is found within the country park close to the Visitor Centre, where guests will find a range of amenities including the bar and restaurant, a souvenir shop and a tourist information centre. There are plenty of spots around the park where guests can enjoy a picnic or a barbecue with their families and friends.

But of course a major draw here has to be the number of activities you can get involved with during your stay. At the heart of the park is a huge 36-acre lake, great for angling. There are also two cycle trails and a BMX circuit, as well as guided bike rides, cycling proficiency training, bicycle maintenance courses, bike hire and more.

Yet that is not all. Other activities that guests can enjoy when pitched here include archery, caving, climbing, gorge walking, kayaking, canoeing, hill walking and orienteering. The park also boasts a nine-hole golf course, a driving range, and a pitch and putt area that is open to all the family. Lessons are available from the resident golf pro, while guests planning to return and make Bryn Bach Country Park their regular holiday retreat can become members of the golf club and enjoy free entry into the competitions regularly held throughout the year. Every Saturday at the park there is a park run – it’s just for fun but plenty of guests get competitive – while cycling events are also a regular feature.

When guests have enjoyed all the activities on offer at Bryn Bach, they can take advantage of the Brecon Beacons National Park, found on the doorstep of this campsite and offering a full range of outdoor activities and miles of rolling terrain for families to explore. The campsite is just off the A465 which runs along the south of the Brecon Beacons and means the park is very easy to access.

The quaint town of Merthyr Tydfil is close to the park, about a 15-minute drive away, Abergavenny within half an hour's drive, too, so despite being so close to wide, open expanses of land, there are still plenty of places to go if you need to top up your holiday supplies or fancy a meal out.
