Portesham Dairy Farm Campsite is a wonderful, four-star, family run campsite close to the famous West Dorset Heritage Coast.

This campsite is open all throughout the year and welcomes motorhomes, touring caravans and tents onto site, plus there are also seasonal pitches, all of which are hardstanding. Portesham Dairy Farm is level and well sheltered from the nearby road, and provides easy access into the village of Portesham itself.

There are three types of pitches available at Portesham. Standard pitches offer guests an authentic, 'back to basics' camping experience at this delightful campsite in Dorset, while the semi-serviced pitches have electric hook-ups and the fully serviced pitches have electric, water and drainage hook-ups. The park has a toilet and shower block, a laundrette and a washing up room, plus there are water points and chemical disposal points. Wi-Fi is available, too, for a small additional cost. Another service on offer at Portesham Dairy Farm Campsite is caravan storage.

There's a small play area on the site, ideal for allowing the children to let off some steam, and a number of the standard and semi-serviced pitches found at the site overlook the play area so the kids can go off and play themselves, but parents still have peace of mind as they can watch them play.

This is also a dog friendly campsite. Although the owners at Portesham Dairy Farm Campsite ask that the dogs are kept on their leads at all times, and owners must clean up after them. There are several nearby footpaths that are great for exercising your dogs.

Only a very short walk from the campsite's entrance is Ducks Farm Shop and The Kings Arms, perfect if you fancy a quiet drink or a meal out. The pub also has live entertainment and activities taking place on various evenings throughout the week, and there is also a sizeable garden out back for children to play around in.

The nearest village down the road from Portesham is Abbotsbury, where there is a swannery, sub-tropical gardens and a children’s play centre. The village itself is very traditional with locally run tearooms and craft shops where guests can always pick up a gift for loved ones back home, or enjoy a traditional and very tasty cream tea.

If you're taking the whole family for a camping, motorhome or caravan holiday in Dorset, Deep Sea Adventure and Monkey World are both brilliant ideas for family days out, with the latter having an amazing play park that will keep the kids entertained for hours.

You are also just a 15-minute drive from Weymouth when pitched at Portesham Dairy Farm Campsite. Visit Weymouth Beach, Chesil Beach, Sandsfoot Castle, Nothe Fort and Gardens, Bennetts Water Gardens, the Weymouth Sea Life Tower and Park, or the Granby Fun Factory. Lovely Dorchester is also only a 15-minute drive from this campsite. Nearby you will find the Tank Museum at Bovington Camp and also Clay Pigeon Raceway, a karting track. And as well as the West Dorset Heritage Coast, why not explore the Purbeck Heritage Coast and the famous and beautiful Lulworth Cove.
