Hadrian's Wall Camping and Caravan Site is a small and secluded holiday park close to the world famous Hadrian’s Wall itself, two miles from the charming village of Melkridge.

The park, which sits on the edge of Northumberland National Park, is open all throughout the year, and welcomes guests with motorhomes and campervans, tents and touring caravans, while a bunk barn is also available for groups of up to 10, though is more typically used by walkers and cyclists looking for a bed for the evening. This is a family run, family friendly campsite.

Hardstanding and grass pitches are available at Hadrian's Wall Camping and Caravan Site, as are electric hook-ups, while a separate area for backpackers just passing through is also available, with no bookings for these pitches required. The site also has a wild camping meadow for guests looking for a raw, real back to basics camping experience.

This is a dog friendly camping and caravan site, however owners must always clean up after their pets and must ensure they are under control at all times.

Facilities available for all guests staying at Hadrian's Wall Camping and Caravan Site include heated toilet and shower blocks, a dedicated disabled toilet and shower area, a laundrette, and a cook house with a fridge freezer. Barbecue units are available for rent from reception and can be used in designated areas of the park, and free Wi-Fi is also offered.

The site has secure accommodation for bicycles and motorcycles, and even horses. There is a café and small shop on the site for guests to pick up refreshments and essentials.

While there is no play area or other activities found at the site, most of Northumberland National Park as well as Kielder Forest Park are within easy reach. And as this campsite is a short distance off the B6318, it is easy to get around the area in your car, motorhome or campervan, or on foot or bicycle.

Of course, many people spend their camping and caravan holidays here to visit Hadrian's Wall itself, and one of the most impressive and dramatic stretches of the wall just a short half mile walk from the park. While the National Trail path alongside Hadrian’s Wall is the most popular route favoured by tourists in this region, there are plenty of other trails and pathways to explore.

There are many ways to get active in the Northumberland National Park and the Kielder Forest Park. As well as walking, cycling and mountain biking, you could try pony trekking, sailing, windsurfing, fishing, fell running or canoeing, or head to the Calvert Trust Kielder where you will find climbing walls, a zip wire, King Swing, a high ropes course and more. Or how about star gazing? Both these parks are Dark Sky Parks and events are run regularly throughout the year to help visitors appreciate what they are seeing and to get the most from it.

You can be assured of a warm welcome at Hadrian's Wall Camping and Caravan Site on your holidays in Northumberland, and you certainly will not be short of things to do.
