Guests can be in Southport in just 10 minutes if they take the car. Popular as a seaside resort, Southport has a wealth of Victorian architecture and has a number of theatres and cinemas situated in buildings from this era. The town also has the popular Lord Street, where a wide range of shops and great restaurants can be found, while Southport’s restored pier is the longest in the UK and offers some brilliant views out to sea and back towards the town. Ocean Plaza is the major entertainment hub in Southport, boasting a cinema along with bars, restaurants and more.
Southport also has a great art gallery, while a ride on the ‘Southport Belle’ (a paddle steamer) is popular for those heading to the Marine Lake. The town also has a number of excellent golf courses for guests that have mastered the nine-hole course close to the park.

A number of events take place in Southport throughout the year and attract people from across the country, including a flower show, a jazz festival, two air shows and the fun UK Musical Fireworks Competition.

Or get in the car and in half an hour you'll be in Preston. Perhaps you'd like to visit Liverpool? If so, you'll be pleased to hear that this vibrant, thriving city is just under an hour's drive from Woodlands Caravan Park. It is also around an hour by car if you want to visit Blackpool, where its world famous tower and lights are just some of the attractions.

Had 2 night stay on way to Lake District. Living room/kitchen/diner small but very clean and very well equipped. Bedroom a good size with plenty of storage space. Site was beautifully kept and very quiet. Excellent meals at Legh Arms in nearby Mere Brow. Apartment in ideal location for visiting wetlands centre at Martin Mere. Very good value for money.

We had a very pleasant stay - thank you for the warm welcome and information about the area. This helped to make our stay more relaxing and enjoyable. We will be recommending you and will definitely return to visit in the near future. Thanks again!

We have just spent a fortnight staying in Damson Cottage and had a really enjoyable holiday due in part to the very clean and comfortable accommodation i........ thank you very much

….the staff were really friendly giving directions on the phone and once there we couldn’t have asked for more it was spotless and the hot-tub was great.

……if you’re looking for some relaxation you will not get any more peaceful. the apartment was modern clean and had everything you needed. nice village down the road with excellent food at a good price.
