Directions
We are situated on the A77, 2 miles south of Girvan, on the Stranraer Road overlooking the Firth of Clyde. Every pitch has a view of the Ailsa Craig and Northern Ireland and the Mull of Kintyre on a clear day!There's plenty to see and do near Ardmillan Castle Holiday Park - here are some of our favourites within about a 30 minute drive.
1. Girvan Beach - relax on the sandy beach, take in views of the sea and cliffs, and enjoy coastal walks. A nice spot for a gentle stroll or sea air.
2. Girvan Steeple ("Stumpy Tower") - historic architecture in the town centre; good for a quick historical stop.
3. Ayrshire Coastal Path - part of Scotland’s Great Trails, this path offers dramatic coastal scenery, cliff-top views, and wildlife. Great for walkers wanting a mix of sea and land.
4. Woodland Bay & Boat Trips to Ailsa Craig - walk the coastal paths around Woodland Bay, enjoy views toward Ailsa Craig, and take a boat trip for sea-bird watching. Powerful coastal scenery.
5. Stumpy Tower Free Museum / Girvan Heritage Centre - local historical exhibits, insights into the past and local traditions; combines well if the weather’s not perfect.
6. Culzean Castle & Country Park - a bit of travel but still accessible; grand castle, gardens, woodland walks, and dramatic cliff-top views.
7. Heads of Ayr Farm Park - good for families: animals, play areas, indoor/outdoor things to keep children engaged. Weather doesn’t stop everything here.
8. Dunure & Dunure Castle - picturesque ruins overlooking the sea, rugged coast walks, rock pools, pretty harbour. A peaceful and atmospheric place.

9. Ballantrae & Ballantrae Bay - picturesque village, quiet beaches, peaceful coastal scenery. Good if you want a relaxed beach-day away from crowds.
10. Killochan Castle - a historic 16th-century castle house set in attractive grounds near Girvan; nice for those interested in heritage, gardens and old architecture.
In Girvan (about 5 minutes’ drive) you’ve got a sizeable Asda Superstore and a Co-op Food, both handy for stocking up. There are also smaller local shops, bakeries, and convenience stores dotted through the town.
Girvan has several traditional pubs and hotel bars, like the Roxy, the Victory Bar, and the Harbour Bar, plus places for food such as the Harbour Café and some nice seafront fish & chip shops. If you want something a little more scenic, the Woodland Bay Hotel (just south of Girvan) has a restaurant with great coastal views.
