Lower Lacon Caravan Park is a popular, family run campsite located in the heart of north Shropshire, a mile from the charming market town of Wem. It is open all year round, although some facilities may only be available on a limited basis between November and March.

This is a large but still friendly campsite, offering 230 pitches with electric hook-ups, and welcoming motorhomes, touring caravans and tents. In addition, seasonal pitches are available, while static holiday homes are also on the site for hire or purchase.

A rally field is available for hire throughout the year, and the owners of Lower Lacon will do their very best to accommodate all requests – do contact them directly if you're looking to arrange a rally or another type of event.

Lower Lacon Caravan Park is set over 52 acres of beautiful landscape, and is one of the largest and most popular campsites in Shropshire. Facilities available for guests to use include two shower and toilet blocks, as well as two laundrettes.

There is plenty going on at this holiday park to keep guests entertained. The heated outdoor swimming pool is probably the most popular attraction at the campsite, while there is also a children’s play area and a crazy golf course that offers fun for the whole family. For days when the weather isn’t favourable, there is a fun amusement arcade on-site.

A number of farm animals also call the park home, and if you're staying here you can meet the sheep, pigs, chickens and ducks that live on the site.

There's an on-site convenience store and off-licence, perfect for keeping your tent, motorhome or caravan well stocked with essentials, while JAKKS Barn is a fun family entertainment venue with discos and much more going on during the summer months. This venue also has a café and takeaway food facility, while adult only events are held sporadically throughout the year.

The park’s location means it is perfect for exploring the Shropshire countryside or the market towns and villages in the surrounding area. And you're only a 40-minute drive from the charming Welsh town of Wrexham, which is well worth a visit.

Shrewsbury is only around a half hour drive from Lower Lacon Caravan Park. Green fingered campers might like to attend the annual flower show, one of the biggest horticultural events in England. This is the county town of Shropshire and also boasts an abbey and a castle, plus, of course, there are plenty of places to grab something to eat, so you can enjoy a night away from the kitchen on your holidays. It's also a good place for shopping, but even better is Birmingham, but that's a little further afield, about a 90-minute drive from this campsite.

The lovely countryside here on the English/Welsh borders is well worth exploring. Visit the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on your camping and caravan holidays. There are lots of footpaths here, so enjoy a walk or join one of the guided walks – there's something for all ages and abilities. Or how about a spot of cycling? Again, all ages and abilities are catered for, with road routes, off-road trails and forestry routes to choose between. Bike hire is available if you've not brought your own.

Been here quite a few times over the past few years, fantastic little find!!

The staff are friendly and welcoming enough, Bernie is a godsend and the wardens are also massively helpful, especially Steve who helped us during a particularly bad storm 👍 he was also on hand to offer his first aid skills when our daughter decided she was gonna fall off her bike arm first... "Kids!!"

Can't fault the place or the staff who do a tremendous job...

Reading some of the previous reviews makes me wonder if the negative people had a knock on the head or ended up at a different park as I don't have a bad word against LLCP. (Mrs says the grass needs cutting...)

Keep up the good work Team :)

not a very good site, reserved one week ago , told there was not any room for our caravan and my daughters tent to be together, yet there was lots of room . the heated pool did not work and was not open to swim in .. one member of staff was very nice but the rest were so grumpy and could nt be bothered to even say hello. never again will we camp here. we have camped all over england and this camp was the worst... ps the club is a shed with piped music no atmosphere..

Fantastic site very kid friendly and safe lots to do on site animals to feed kids playground swimming pool in summer etc.. But sadly the seasonal pitches are in need of cleaning they are all green (caravan & awning) some of them even collapsed and yes deckings made out of pallets. Very strict on NO COMMERCIAL OR SIGNWRITTEN VEHICLES
They really do need to clean up the seasonals Apart from that a fantastic site to visit

we visitied this park on our first outing in April08 - beautiful settings and very close to the local town of Wem which is a quaint unspoilt place - had a lovely meal in the Albion Hotel - good grass pitches but hard standing was like pitching on a car park hence we chose a grass pitch - only thing spoiling this park is the way they do not ensure owners maintain their vans or awnings - awnings were collapsed and green with moss - make shift deckings allowed out of pallets! this is an eye sore-we would not visit again unless some maintenence was caried out - shame realle lovely
